Has anyone tried this with windows 7 64bit build 7000? I keep getting an error when the openvpn tries to install the tap-win32 device driver. Is there a workaround for this? I tried installing the openvpn-2.1_rc15-install.exe thinking " Windows Vista-ready on both x86 and x64." would allow it to work on windows 7 since it's similar to vista however it said that I wasn't using windows and it couldn't install. I've also tried using the "kit" installer and it gave the same problem.

Godot752 is correct, there is a cert issue. I got it to at least reach the server, but I'm returning a MITM (man-in-the-middle) error from OpenVPN. I think this is also due to the certs. I tried editing the config to include remote-certs-tls but it won't load that way. In fact the name of the files in the zip on the site are not even the same as those specified in the clientport file...

I question how up-to-date this "quickstart" is, though this does sound cool.

I am not able to connect to anoNet after following the Quickstart Instructions on the website. If anyone here has access to Anonet, even if you can't help me yourself, please pass my message along on Anonet's internal IRC network. I have been unable to find anybody I can contact on the outside, so I am posting this here.

The certificate use by the server appears to be signed by a CA with the info "/C=AN/ST=AN/L=Anonet/O=Anonet/CN=Anonet_CA/emailAddress=null@anonet.org", which does not match the CA certificate provided in the ZIP file linked to in the Quickstart page. I noticed that the ZIP file contents are the same as the one that was provided for the old client port. I think that when the OpenVPN config was updated on the website, the OpenVPN certs and key weren't.

If you can't figure out an OpenVPN installation, don't blame anoNet but your skills in installing a vpn client.

It doesn't work. I followed the instructions - nothing. Uninstalled, reinstalled, repetead the procedure - nothing. I did everything as suggested. When i right-click or double-click the anoNet-openvpn icon I get "Error opening registry for reading (HKLM/SOFTWARE/OpenVPN). OpenVPN is probably not installed."
