Vortex Leader Resigns, Spawns Spinoff Site from Ex-Staff

August 02, 08 by sharky   6,978  views

Rachel Faith, the sysop/admin of Vortex Network, has resigned today after strong allegations in connection with a Pay2Leech scandal and a global "BitTorrent Domination" mindset. Vortex staffers have been jumping ship even before her tended resignation / impeachment, and even What.cd - who supplied the Project Gazelle codebase and worked closely throughout the developmental stages - has now officially disassociated themselves from any connection to Vortex.

Meanwhile, a brand-new Mac tracker comprised of ex-Vortex staff is using the Gazelle codebase (with What.cd endorsement), making it only the fourth tracker to use What.cd’s much-applauded Gazelle. Introducing SaveTheCoratee.org.

The Vortex roster looks very slim as of late, with just a skeleton crew of a few remaining hangers-on. Staffers who wish to salvage some credibility out of this sinking ship have all but washed their hands of the entire project.

The New New Mac Tracker

Unsurprisingly, ex-staff from Vortex have started up their own Mac tracker called SaveTheCoratee. Look for it here: http://savethecoratee.org.

While not publicly open to new signups, you’ll either have to be invited or apply for membership through their irc channel:

irc://irc.savethecoratee.org - go to channel #invites and be prepared for a short interview. Be sure to have some of your private tracker "profile" links on hand, as well as a speedtest from Speedtest.net.

Vortex, it appears you’ve gone down the drain. Last stop - everybody off.

Oh dear. I hope all of them the best.

Rachel Faith may have resigned, but she was also banned from Vortexnetwork, what.cd and Waffles.

Has anyone else had problems accessing Vortex? Is it dead? DoSed to death? By the way, are the Save The Coratee guys going to invite former BrokenStones members?

  4. 04   •   ALI Says:

They won’t just give you an invite because you were on BrokenStones because ultimately, they have nothing to do with BS (it’s mainly What.CD? crew) and you cannot prove that you were a BS member.

But, you can very easily go to their IRC and have a quick interview and get in :)

  5. 05   •   Louis C. Says:

Nah, you won’t get an invite if you were a member of BS, nor will you get an invite for being from Vortex. Everybody has to go through the interview process unless you are a Power User on a big private tracker like What or Waffles, in which case you should be able to get an invite from the Invite forum.

However, this article should never have been posted. StC is supposed to be a secret.

@LOUIS — I will respect any tracker that wishes to be removed from FSF, and
If STC was supposed to remain a secret, then it wouldn’t have been on What.cd’s Home page. Here’s the shot from What.cd:

You made it clear enough yourself - if it was ’secretive’ such as PtN or FtN then there would have never been a post on either trackers’ forums, regardess of PU user or not. A site published on What & Waffles will (obviously) not remain a ’secret’ for long, if that was even an intention. Even TorrentFreak has come out with an article about STC - read it here:

Well I’d assume if they wanted to be removed, they’d contact you already so I don’t know what’s up. I know it’s on What.cd, I’m from What.cd too, and StC has a lot to do with what.cd. I just don’t know if they wanted to be announced on major filesharing blogs and such, I figured they’d just want to be mentioned on private trackers, for the members of those trackers. But hey, that’s what the interview process is for anyway.

Beware of idiots on IRC trying to pick all your torrent tracker history… I would’t trust those guys…You absolve “interview” with them so that they can give you precious invite!

Ok thanks. I just got the impression that most of the staff from Vortex were moving on to StC and with all the comings and goings thought it was the next BrokenStones successor. Vortex not being available for me yesterday due to a server change helped me get that idea. Everything seems back up.

Keep away from Vortex, there’s a lot of censorship there on the forums. They don’t trash threads, they delete them, and they delete posts as well as ban people and delete them for their enjoyment. They call it “public beheadings” as an enjoyment in banning members whom disagree with any of their posts there. The site tries to mimic a government style class system with rules, the staff enjoy playing there mini-government roles and take them very seriously.

The old Imperialist leader Rachel Faith resigned with a retarded Churchill style speech along with a public beheading and banned from other trackers for threats against them. There is a new leadership on Vortex, a Nazi Leadership that silences anyone.
The Leader is Tigernetic who resembles Adolf Hitler, and then there’s Mactus who’s as doomed as Paul von Hindenburg. The main Henchmen (Centurions) are known as Avatar_Of_Teferi, SpaceGhost, and blackcivic. Blackcivic enjoys the fun of deleting posts and silencing the crowds. Beware of SpaceGhost, he’s a pathetic ass kisser to the site and agrees with everything Tigernetic says, especially that Vortex should be a profit tracker with a P2L system and charge $1 a GB upload credits. SpaceGhost has no skills in thinking or reasoning. I did not mention thed0000d since he’s new and has kept quiet.

    KEEP AWAY from VORTEX NETWORK
The people at STC are completely the opposite of the Vortex Staff, you’ll be happy there.

What a bunch of crap. I obviously have had better things to do than to chase down rumors and counter patent falsehoods. Since being appointed a SysOp at the end of July and have done my best to be fair to all. I stayed to protect the people that stood the most chance of getting hurt. The only deletions while on my watch have been those that requested it, which I was happy to comply with. I don’t mind a lively debate on an issue, but I will not tolerate flame wars or the public bashing of someone either. I have a good reputation and wish those that have left our community the best.
