CoExist, A Ratio Free Music Tracker - Open Signups Soon
February 03, 09 by sharky 13,160 viewsIt would appear that CoExist.in - a no ratio music tracker that was set to shut its doors permanently as early as this past weekend, has been given a second chance at life. CE’s future has been shrouded in uncertainty over the past few days in relation to the sysop and the project’s main coder coming precariously close to pulling the plug on CE entirely amidst a shortage of hosting finances, lack of donations, design flaws, and an unrelated scuffle on a private torrent forum.
CoExist’s own homepage suggests that JC (JayCryst) and J0zza have decided to push forward with CoExist - although they’ll be ditching Gazelle - and opting for a more familiar tracker codebase instead. If you’re a current member of CoExist, tomorrow(ish) will be the final chance to see CE running on the Gazelle codebase, as they’ll be switching over to the ever-popular TBDev.
If rumors are correct, finances have been raised for at least one more month of hosting, perhaps even put up by JC himself. Better still, CoExist has announced that they’ll be going "open signups" for a few weeks after the tracker’s refurbishment is complete. A direct source (ragincajun) said, "the site is being re-coded from the ground up using tbdev. Once the site is back up we will open sign ups for two weeks." Unfortunately, this likely means that all current accounts will be wiped out, although this is unconfirmed.

This is a BIG step for CE in the right direction, and much of the ’staff’ will change, with new sysops and admins and coders and all that good stuff.
Once more, I can actually code TBdev, So it’ll work out great!

Just wanted to clarify one thing. j0zza is a great guy who did his best as sysop at CE, but all staff (j0zza included) feel that staffing changes are necessary once CE V2 launches. We are very excited to announce that In2thedeth will take over as sysop at launch. In2thedeth has extensive staff experience in the private tracker world and brings with him new and exciting ideas that will allow CE to experience its true potential.

No - not necessarily. They’re mot even really related actually. There’s ratio-less trackers out there that stipulate a seeding time for a start.

trust me if i havnt heard of him, hes a n00b, and gazelle is quite a better codebase from a programmers standpoint, the fact that they are switching to TBDev shows how inexperienced they are with php/mysql/etc.

I have to agree about Gazelle - going back to TB is a bjg mistake afaic. It’s really where the future is - so much better to use because of integrated catagories.

I like to see that JayCryst is blaming his failure on the galleze base code on the fact I may have done damage is a joke. When I joined the development team on coexist, I found many bugs including one in a system put in place by jaycryst after he had stepped down from the site he founded to stop his permissions/stats on the site being veiwed or changed by the new sysop.
At the end of the day JayCryst is trying to save face by rejoining the team after quite a few elite torrenters pointed out he jumpships on his projects. And I personally warned a few people of this guys sere lack of skills. He tried to claim this was due to his lack of knowledge with gazelle. Not declaring variables before use not gazelle related. Not making sure the scripts work not gazelle related. Using $_GET when on the line beneath it has $_POST for getting data from the form not gazelle related.

Hope that CE v2 is different for you all and more people enjoy it .
I would like to see a few people sign up at open singups and get this place going.. then we can finally say THE FIRST RATIO-LESS MUSIC TRACKER!!
i wouldn’t recommend to anyone joining up till we have done beta version tested and ready to go .. this of course will be when we open signups.

This site totally sucks and it has nothing to do with gazelle or jay. The fact is that the content is made up of a few things people leeched from what/waffles. It offers nothing at all and unless you’re a noob without any good source, do not board the failboat.

weird… gazelle is designed for a music tracker and they are going to TB, not a smart idea. Also, no music tracker will ever come close to what.cd, dont even try.
The RIAA is gettin ready to join on open signups.

TBDev is SO more visually appealing (PTN,FTN,SCL,exc) then fugly gazelle. Thank fucking god for Catagory icons! The only site IMHO that did good with gazelle is TiT, which has a great layout. Not to mention gazelle is harder to code and shit.

i would have agreed with you before i saw TehConnection v2 on gazelle, it blows every single TBDev and Gazelle tracker out of the water interms of design and functionality including FTN, PTN, SCL.
