Blog Races - Tracking ‘Release Blogs’ & Scene Releases

One thing about IRC: You never know what you’re going to discover. Most private torrenters have already heard about IRC tracer [channels](/2008/08/17/the-new-p2p-irc-network-p2p-neteu/ “The New P2P IRC Network - P2P-NET.EU”) (specifically #trace & #tracers), which log and keep track of torrent races among popular trackers competing for the best pretimes. Well now there’s a new IRC network that covers releases from prominent ‘release blogs’ - what could be more original! #brace (Blog Race) is a new project that tracks several release blogs and how fast they post about scene releases. It uses the same engine as #trace, which tracks torrent sites.

The Blog Race project has only been around for about a month now, but it’s already developed quite a buzz amongst the release blog circuit. All the info you need to connect can be found at http://anotherp2p.net.

About #brace

#brace uses RSS feeds that aggregates every 60 seconds to track various release blogs (SceneSource, ZeroSec, SceneReleases, ReleaseLog, PLUBE, OneDDL, IRFree, & CooLXviD). Even if you don’t use #brace to track wins and releases, it’s extremely handy for viewing what’s new across these 8 popular release blogs.

**Channels of Interest

:**

#APN - The main channel for anotherp2p.net.

#brace - The announce channel for new releases.

#brace.search - Users can search for specific releases, sites and overall stats (wins).

#p2pre / #p2pre.search - Tracks known P2P releases in the same way that #trace tracks scene releases. Known groups that are set up: STG, PrisM, BDK, FLAWL3SS, DEViSE, PLUBE, D-Z0N3, PRoDJi, iAPULA, THS and KingBen. The channel is rather “slow” because P2P groups don’t release often.

#pre / #pre.search - ‘pre’ channel and related search. #pre.search commands include !pre !dupe !group and !db

#trace / #trace.search - For torrent sites. Commands listed below work the same way.

#newz - RSS News — Better feeds & more commands coming eventually.

#pre.full - Topic is ‘Full, Unfiltered Pre Chan - still working out the bugs’

**#Brace / #Trace Commands

:**

!site <insert site name> - Displays the corresponding statistics for a chosen site. Example - !site ZeroSec

!race <exact rls name> - Self-explanatory. Shows the stats for a particular release. Example - !race Transporter.3.1080p.Bluray.x264-1920. NOTE: In order for this to work in the #brace channel, you need voice (+v). Voice is not required to use this command in the #brace.search channel (recommended).

!sites - Lists the current ‘wins’ (stats) from all release blogs. The current overall leader (or fastest release blog when compared to actual pretimes) is ZeroSec, followed by RlsLog and ScnSrc.

All-in-all, the Blog Race project at irc.anotherp2p.net is a very unique idea for tracking release blogs & their releases. Up until now, there was no real way of comparing sites, aside from having to visit each one or manually watch multiple RSS feeds. #brace and #brace.search pulls all the data into one convenient location. Bravo!

I came across it bout 2 weeks ago and its a very friendly net!

  8. myass Says:

Zerosec, 119 wins and RLSLOG 75. Wow, good luck there. All of them are most likely Tv releases, why the fuck would you need info on TV Releases. Just go to TVRage and look at the eps of your fav shows then go to EZTV or your fav private tracker. Fcking pathetic.

  9. okone Says:

MYASS: which is why zs has a tv filter…didn’t know shitlog had one!

  10. YOURASS Says:

LOL totally agreed with #8 (MYASS)

  11. xep Says:

  13. dalaih Says:

if you want ddl, just go to http://sceneddl.net
its an autobot that upload scene stuff on 1-Clicks hosts
it has the best pretimes :)

  14. Null Says:

    @13
Half hour or more after pre for everything, yeah, real fast.

  15. Yeh. Says:

FYI myass most of the time these blogs are faster than EZTV. Proven :)

Secondly the scores are a joke. RLSLOG does not post the 720p title on the heading, hence not being counted.

Well I;ll leave these sites for you. The sites are for noobs who cant use google to type in a movie name.

  16. dgb. Says:

i remember Rlslog posted an epside of PB within 5 seconds after pre. neat huh

  17. haahaa Says:

This thing is a joke. Confirmed:

Check the times by commenting on both sites. You will see that there is only a 2 minute difference, you will notice that RLSLOG has posted this before ZS. but wait, look:

irc.P2P-Net.eu is the best for Tracers.

  19. zebueater Says:

    @17 (HAAHAA)

    Rofl, nice investigating there….

I did actually notice similar things while i was on there a little earlier today i was contantly refreshing the sites when the TV shows were being posted and the site that actually posted it first didnt get credit for being first on that IRC channel, infact it went to another site that was posted about 3-5 mins later….

And agreed with the wins to ZeroSec the reason they have so many wins is because they post the 720p episode names in the titles and that counts as them being first when the other sites just add the details but dont change the title name

  20. miteyMite Says:

Gotta love all the dumb asses putting up negative comments without even using their actual name. Keep them coming, retards ;)

  21. zebueater Says:

    Constructive criticism mate

  22. chaos Says:

    hmmm

well MITYMITE thats the true facts.

  23. zomg Says:

The script isn’t coded ok, rss feeds aren’t made for this kind of racing.
Make a new one that is based on the actual new siteinforelease.
    No use being in there.

  29. ereburburbur :) Says:

when no samples are included, i !race the file, to see where its posted.

  30. Lol Says:

just wonder how can i add rss feed in irc channel?

  31. me. Says:

THis gives me a great idea.

I’m gonna create a blog that times how fast all other blogs post the winner of the races between other blogs, who in turn post the results of the scene races.

I dunno about you guys, but I reckon I’m on to a fuckin winner!

  32. CooLXviD Says:

From a pre scene web page, how can we download the files without having to go to a DDL?

Or how do DDL’s get the files we see on a pre scene web page?

  36. Criper Says:

This is a very good scene release site:
    http://www.thepiratelog.com

    Check it out, it rocks!

  37. Click Here Says:

I’m impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is outstanding; the issue is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
