Regrettably, one of the original pioneers
of the P2P & BitTorrent chat/invites scene folded up shop earlier
this week. P2PTalk.org is no more, which came as
a complete surprise to its members, including here at FSF (we’ve got the
inside scoop). Not to worry, the P2PTalk team has rebounded with a new
P2P/tracker discussion board called Digital Raider.
P2PTalk.org Pulls The Plug
Tired of the whole “Invites” scene, the P2PTalk team left on a positive note. To quote Reese, the P2PTalk sysop, “It’s true, P2PT is gone for good. The team and I have started up a new site, we wanted to make a little community that has active people; not just people begging for invites”. P2PTalk began in November, 2007.
For anyone interested, the new torrent discussion board is called Digital Raider, at www.digitalraider.net. Be advised that there are no invite giveaways or requests, no trades, nothing whatsoever related to tracker invitations - it’s just a bunch of pirates that have a common interest. The info below has been taken directly from DRn, and should clarify exactly what happened. We directly quote:
So what is Digital Raider?
Our staff has been fielding questions all day from just about everyone. So let me take a few minutes to answer some of the most common questions. Hopefully everyone will understand a bit better after reading this thread.
What happened to p2ptalk? In short, we killed it, obviously.
Why did we close it? Well a whole list of reasons really but the most important ones are as follows..
1) P2PTalk was filled with collectors, cheaters, scammers, traders, etc.. sure there was a large number of quality members.. a lot of them you’ll find here. maybe under a different nick.. but here.
2) P2PTalk was an invite forum.. that wasn’t it’s original intention.. but it turned out that way and as a staff.. we hated it. We hated the drama that surrounds invite forums. We hated having to answer to trackers for public giveaways and all that nonsense. It’s not worth it.
So What is DRn? Well I can tell you what it’s not… it’s not p2ptalk reincarnated. There will be no invites here. No requests, no giveaways.. none of that. If you get an invite from a member here.. it’s because you know them and they offered you one, not because you answered a giveaway thread. DRn is a Tech/P2P forum.. what you’ll find here is a helpful community that’s here to help you solve your tech issues.. whether it’s a pc problem.. or your surround sound isn’t working right at home.. or you’ve just bought that new BlackBerry and can’t figure out how to do this or that. Maybe you want to know what likeminded people think about a GFX card before you buy it.. well DRn is where you’ll find your answers. As far as the p2p side goes… it’s all about the news.. and talking about the news.
What’s the same about DRn compared to P2PTalk? Well nothing really… apart from the staff.. and some of the quality members.
What do I need to know about DRn? Well first and foremost… you need to know the rules. They’re much different from p2ptalk’s rules. So read them.. or even download the available pdf file. There’s no link up yet to the rules but hopefully that will be done today but until then.. you can find the rules at the link below.
and lastly.. is p2ptalk ever coming back? Simple answer… no… p2ptalk is in it’s grave for good. So if you were at p2ptalk for the invites… sorry.. DRn isn’t for you. If you were there for the community and the people.. then welcome to DRn.
Hopefully this clears some things up and hopefully we can make Digital Raider greater than p2ptalk could’ve ever dreamed of being.

I was sad to see p2ptalk go but I suppose its for the best. I know I saw a lot of scammers and cheaters applying at my giveaways. DRn has a great community which is what i think sets it apart from most. There are plenty of very knowledgeable members and all around great guys. I wish it the best.

DRn is different… I think the vast majority of pirates on the net are also techies. We have the latest gadgets… our family calls us when they break their pc’s… some of us work in a tech related field. So why wouldn’t we try to share some of that knowledge and interests with the rest the net… not just pirates? That’s what DRn is focused on.

Lol…that is sooo true Epiceyes. At least it’s my experience. Since I would puke if I had to navigate through another install of AOL…I find myself dreading another computer breakdown call from, less than computer savvy, friends. But it can be addicting to see those happy faces after you’ve fixed their computer.;)
