Perhaps second only to BitTorrent in terms of filesharing growth are 1-click hosters such as RapidShare, MegaUpload & other direct download link (DDL) providers. More than ever, P2Pers are discovering the advantages of using HTTP to download in contrast to public torrents - and for good reason: DDLs don’t have ‘peerlists’ whereby your IP address is easily pinned down; speeds are generally better; and there’s so much more variety. And downloaders know a thing or two about where to find the latest warez - be it on release blogs, RapidShare warez forums or plain old RS search & DDL index sites. This a 3-part series dedicated to 1-click hosters, here in Part I we investigate both public & private RapidShare/warez forums.
A crux to why pro downloaders tend to migrate towards warez/RapidShare forums is for valid working links, time and time again. Since RS, MU and others tend to delete uploaded links that contain obviously blatant copyright-infringing content, this renders RS search sites to a limited (if not irrelevant) listing of “good” search results. Not so with release blogs and forums where the DDL file names are most often entirely random, as to not raise any suspicions and thus avoid detection/deletion. Undoubtedly, DDL links will live a much longer life on a warez forum than anywhere else.
Below is a comprehensive list of the most popular DDL warez forums, with a brief summary of strongpoints for each. Sites are arranged by Alexa Rank, high to low. For sites that require registration, either the forums are off-limits unless first logged in, or the links in the threads are hidden from public viewing. Most are English, except when noted otherwise (International warez boards can be found at the bottom of the list).

great list, though there are some missing that really deserve to be mentioned, and I think a point needs to be made that sites that enforce Katz.cd posting standards and submit listings to and index with them (and other similar ddl index sites) tend to be the best sites for the latest content; and it’s nice to see clean posts without having to pick through poorly named releases etc.
One site that’s really rising through the ranks quickly is http://www.ninjawarez.com as they have a great staff and uploader team and a whole lot less idiots and snoops than some of the more well-known boards.
Also, avaxhome.ws, although a blog and not a forum, is a great resource for lossless music, especially non-mainstream genres such as extreme metal, classical, jazz etc.
Evilsfunhouse is already listed here, but here’s some more detail. They are mostly focused on metal music and horror movies. If there’s a rare exploitation b-movie or cheesy 80’s horror flick that you just can’t find anywhere, they will have it. If you are familiar with Cinemageddon or THC you will LOVE evilsfunhouse, they are for ddl what those guys are for torrents.
Another great resource for metal and rock is metal4ever.net, they have a portal style interface that breaks down music by bitrate and genre. However the site is in Portugeuse so you’ll have to use google translator. Metalarea.org is very similar but is in Russian.
If you are a fan of retro gaming check out emudesc.net, they have full isos of just about every ps1 game listed alphabetically, but the site is in Spanish.
Dailyw.org is also a good site, but they use some kind of prefetching on their forum to load thumbnails of threads and on a slower connection it’s a major pain.
These may be smaller sites but bigger is not always better when you seek obscure files, older versions of software, and intelligent conversation. The bigger boards are great for leeching newer, mainstream movies and tv shows but tend to be sorely lacking when it comes to the community as a whole and tend to be full of drama and postwhoring. Read some threads on warez-bb and you can feel your IQ plummet.

I do high level torrent sites and WBB. TBH I like both evenly. Though WBB seems to be best for music and I prefer TL for TV Shows and STG’s re-encodes. Both have a place in the Warez world.
