SwePred - The Next Big Swedish Tracker?

With over 20 (and counting) Nordic trackers that have either willfully gone offline or removed all of their torrents, it comes as a complete surprise as to why any new torrent tracker would want to be connected with Sweden. It would appear that brand-new SwePred.org aims to be such a tracker, but it isn’t without controversy. The revolution has begun - or is this just another beginning for a tracker already doomed for the same demise as its predecessors - evidently only time will tell.

Some skeptical Swedes are suggesting that SwePred (translated to English here) is nothing more than a scam to collect information on torrenters, given the fact that opening a new Swedish tracker is an extremely risky proposition these days. Even trackers that are hosted outside of the homeland (but Swedish-owned) are not exempt from liability, as the location of the server is completely irrelevant. Others suggest it’s all just an elaborate hoax.

However, early images suggest SwePred is a legitimate tracker as seen below - although there are no torrents listed on the site as of yet.

Even if SwePred is what it is - one forum member wrote, "They took quite clear water over their heads when they tried to create a new tracker in such a short schedule they had. Certainly well APB (AntiPiratByran) will send an email as soon as they get the chance to tell them to remove all .torrents… I am too skeptical of nearly all trackers now."

Apparently beta-testing of the tracker is already under way. To get invited, aspiring members need to supply a ‘proof’ consisting of a profile link from Swebits, Swedvdr, PirateBits, ScT, TTi, SCC or TorrentBytes before even being considered for an invite - and have uploaded 500 GB with a ratio of 1.0 or higher (on one of the above trackers).

    Thanks for the heads up sharky. It looks as though it could be a good tracker. Shame about all the nordic trackers closing up shop but these are hard times.

    Signing up to this without a vnp or proxy is putting your dick in a guillotine hoping to pull out fast enough. If provide proof to swedish sites isn’t a give away, then I don’t know.

    I highly doubt its a scam.

    However guys go signup at svartakatten.org a new swedish tracker, wich i personally see stay online for a long long time.

    this must be a lame ass site. Why did they choose to allow users with only over 500gb upload to enter? sounds lame, no kidding.
