tracker on the block is Vibes.fm - a new music
tracker devoted to Jazz releases only. First & foremost, Vibes
is self-billed as a community tracker for Jazz enthusiasts looking to
share & discuss the Jazz music scene. Vibes is a tight-knit group,
and intends to stay small - open signups will be closing at 500
members (with another 500 allowable members through invites &
recruitment).
Vibes: A Ratio-Free Tracker?
Vibes.fm isn’t too concerned about “ratio” - in fact, you won’t find any mention of specific ratio rules in their rules/FAQ - ”We have a ratio system, but it honestly doesn’t matter to the staff members.” As a community tracker, they’re not particularly stringent with respect to ratio, as much as they are concerned with all our members making good use of the music made available by our great uploaders.
All users are permitted to upload content, provided they follow tracker guidelines with respect to upload protocol. Our ethos is to share jazz (and perhaps a tidbit of blues and folk) in a global fashion, from global music scenes. Allowable formats include MP3, OGG, with a heavy focus on FLAC (lossless audio) releases.

After the initial open registration period, Vibes will be implementing an interview only membership policy.
“Our ethos at Vibes is to allow our members to not only share jazz music that they cherish, but to discuss live music acts currently touring alongside all facets of jazz music. We revel in the global jazz scene, and encourage our community to share that with others that would otherwise not have access to local acts that enjoy local celebrity. We are all about jazz, and we see our users as being as valuable as our SysOp.”

I joined this tracker, as my friends run it. I am really impressed with the DL speeds so far! Most stuff I grab is all off seedbox’s. This place is worth joining, and they are growing and improving things along the way.

Ehhhhh, I don’t want to be the complainer here, but I’m really thinking why? A tracker opened up, so why do they deserve a full article, put them with the rest when you have your new trackers of the month articles. This is like the 3rd tracker you’ve “advertised”.

This site looks like a dream come true for me. Unfortunately, it looks like sign-ups and even invites are closed.
I wish I had known sooner, I’m a jazz saxophonist myself and am currently studying at a prominent music school in New England. This site could have been a wonderful educational resource for me. It’s sometimes difficult finding the more obscure recordings of the masters.
I would really love to be apart of this community. If anyone knows if/when sign-ups or invites are reopening, please let me know!
