After more than two months of intense work, AnimeByt.es has finally launched. AnimeByt.es is a community-oriented site that doubles as both an Anime tracker and a Japanese music tracker - all rolled together into one. Because Anime is mostly episodic, most trackers have a difficult time keeping content well-organized. That’s where Gazelle comes in, with its advanced tagging system and grouping features. Combine this with exceptional custom coding which serve to link both the anime & music torrents, and you’ll see why AB is an anime tracker unlike any other.
Finding an invite — Currently, registration is not open directly to the public. However, invites can be requested through their #invites IRC channel. You’ll need to come prepared, so first read (and complete) this application form which you’ll need to PM to an IRC OP when required:
All new accounts come with 10GB upload credit and 5 invites.
AnimeByt.es - A Dual-Purpose Tracker
The content on AnimeByt.es is neatly partitioned into two sections (dual browse pages), and these sections into categories. The first section is for none other than anime and all of its related media. The second section includes J-music, featuring music by any and all Japanese artists.
“Our goal as a tracker is, in short, to become the single largest and most organized repository of anime, consolidating it and all of its variants (manga, novels, OSTs, video games, and live action works) all in one place and in multiple formats as well-seeded torrents. Secondly yet equally important, is to become a community where members actively share what the content they have, and discuss what they think. We hope that in time as our memberbase and content selection grows, AnimeByt.es will become your first and last stop for geting all things anime-related. If you are not yet aware, this tracker runs on the Gazelle codebase (pioneered by What.CD) and optimized to be fit as an anime tracker. As such, you will notice that our method of organization for torrents is highly specific and categorical. It is this among other reasons which we hope will make up for the ways in which other trackers fall short. These ways include little and/or poorly seeded content, little community, adherence to copyright restrictions, and little or no organization.”
AnimeByt.es - Unique Features
• Series List — To compliment grouping & tagging, the dev team has also added a Series page which lists anime as browseable torrents by series name. Animebyt.es has also incorporated a similar Collages page, which you’ll be familiar with through other Gazelle trackers.
• Official AniDB, ANN and Wikipedia links for the anime releases - as well as artwork & series info.
• Hentai Allowed — Unlike many other anime trackers, AnimeByt.es isn’t afraid to allow Hentai content, although this function can be disabled in the search.
• Two distinct upload pages for both anime and J-Music releases; as well as two separate torrent browse pages.
• Upcoming Features:
- — Anime OP and ED listings - This will be a chart which will list each opening and ending song for that every anime and video game which has thus far been uploaded. It will also show the name of the song and its artist (linking back and forth the anime and J-music sections).
- — Related series - This will be a chart on each series page which will list series related to the current one (prequels, sequels, adaptations, spinoff, etc.). Since each series on AnimeByt.es is series-unspecific, it won’t be necessary to say whether this is anime is based off of that manga, etc. Instead it will relate series of different names to one another. Perhaps in the future, we can turn it into a more graphical representation.
- — Character / Voice Actor listings - A third chart which, as the name suggests, will list each character of the show, that character’s voice actor, and how many series each the character and voice actor has been a part of. Clicking on either the character name or voice actor name will show a collage of the other series the character / voice actor has been a part of and will include a bio as well.

Derza Says:
Pretty sweet idea but not sure if it will work, especially with it being private. You don’t even need a torrent tracker to DL good anime/manga/etc and J-Music just sucks.
ASDF Says:
Seems like a well designed site…
bakutenshi Says:
Derza: of course anime and manga and the like can be found elsewhere, but AnimeByt.es is meant to be the better alternative, and eventually the sole best source. Currently there is no singular place where anime and manga and packs of OSTs, artbooks, novels, games, and other such items may be found. AnimeByt.es is intended to be the place to consolidate all of this media into one location. Before AnimeByt.es, I personally would have to frequent many other sources: public trackers, IRC XDCC bots, even Japanese P2P program, just to find all of the things that are allowed on AnimeByt.es. Furthermore, there are all of the other advantages of a private tracker wrapped in: better speeds, better selection and content, a focus and like-minded community, better security, and a longer retention time of a torrent’s lifespan. First of all there are not any other anime-designated private trackers, and secondly when you think of their public counterparts: BoxTorrents comes to mind, which itself is lacking in hundreds of series due to complicance with American copyright / licensing issues. AnimeByt.es (due in part to its private tracker nature) is bound by no such restrictions or regulations. These and several other reasons are why AnimeByt.es is not only a good idea, but a model for a successful tracker.
As for J-music, that is allowed mainly because many fans of anime are also fans of Japanese music, especially because the OP and ED songs of 95% of anime feature theme songs by J-music artist. It would be harder to name a series that DOESN’T in fact, since there are so many that do. In order to cater to the interests of as many members as possible, the J-music section exists.

pretty sure every group that’s the best at what they do, not just trackers but everything, were not the best at some point in their existence, no thanks to people with your mindset though
so next time you feel like making a demeaning, pointless post in an otherwise constructive and meaningful post, please just don’t

hey sharky plz give a review on Anime trackers …. no idea
Southrop Says:
BakaBT, formerly known as BoxTorrents, is a semi-private tracker. We have a public side, but we also have benefits for registered users.
Abhishek Says:
Bakabt.com already provides the “same features” as AnimeByt.es does actually. I just applied for an account at AB, waiting to see how it is. Personally I think Bakabt Quality standards are too top-notch IMO.
Although I’d appreciate the article. Gave me some good insight on the Tracker. Seems exciting. The 10GB Upload Credit is goooood
Kashiwara(Darkbalmunk) Says:
Lol I like those yeah bakabt da shitz, dont forget they had drama with donations not adding up and went straight to pointing fingers at the one of the founders since his private information was always kept away from everyone especially on the paypal source. Also mods decide what can or cannot be uploaded, with animebyt.es we accept any anime related stuff like any other site should be properly be described and labeled. also there is a more a more balanced credit system where as on bakabt it is nearly impossible to be a seeder and have a credit ratio to make up for no leechers, animebyt.es is based on a system of how large the file is and how long your online to calculate what credit you earn so you can purchase upload credit. Also the community is not gonna jump you for saying something stupid >_> hopefully…. lol jk.

“AnimeByt.es is dead. It went down a couple days ago. AB R.I.P You will be missed :’(”
no, not really… It’s up and running. Apparently there was an issue with the servers and cables.
For me AnimeByt.es is better alternative to BakaBT since I am kinda picky with subtitles and stuff and could care less for dual audio and 1080p. AB lets me pick and choose what I want on one site instead of BakaBT choosing for me and leaving me to find the others elsewhere. I also have issues with the confusing layouts (that for the most part are kinda nice I have to admit) that BakaBT has. In my opinion the thins that makes BakaBT an awesome place are the amount of seeders, but AnimeByt.es makes up for that by being more user friendly, allowing some things that BakaBT doesn’t, along with things that I like, such as DVD ISOs, RAW anime, the choice of sources, and achievements. ^.^
At the end of the day it is all up to preference and what you require of your tracker. If speed is your thing then BakaBT is a safer place for you, but if you aren’t all that picky about that then AnimeByt.es is the place to be.
