GloryBits and BakedBits - Two New Gazelle Trackers Open

Trackers GloryBits and BakedBits share a common history: both existed previously and have now recently resurfaced using the Gazelle codebase. GloryBits was a lesser-known site that succumbed to the pressure that Antipiratbyrån put on Nordic trackers, many of which have now found new life. BakedBits also sustained a lengthy period of downtime before revamping the site as version 2.

Newly refurbished GloryBits.org is going through some growing pains and still under development. Having been offline since April ‘09 due to the catastrophe that saw many Nordic trackers fall, they’ve now returned with some new staff and a fancier design. Having said that, the improved GB shows no signs of being a Nordic/Swedish tracker at all. GloryBits is currently open for signups:

GloryBits being less than two weeks old - is (will be) a tracker for Blu-Ray rips, HD movies & HD TV releases, as well as HQ audio (i.e. lossless) and standard-def TV complete collections (no single episodes or seasons for SD TV). Be forewarned; there are only 4 active torrents here at the moment. But GB already has some interesting features, such as:
- • A TV Database with IMDb links, ratings and next episode date listings (we naturally assume the TV DB to link up with torrents, but can’t confirm this as of yet). All users are permitted (and encouraged) to add to the database.
- • Browser- based Java IRC chat.
- • Integrated IMDb autofill parsing on the upload page.
- • Seed-points system for purchasing invites & UL credit.
- • Customized site "Rules" which you’ll probably find jocular.
BakedBits.org - now Pre-depot.com
BakedBits.org (now Pre-depot.com) originally came into being in December ‘08, but it wasn’t long after that the site suffered some serious downtime. Well, BakedBits/Pre-depot is back with new staff and a completely redesigned site. Although P-D is using Gazelle, the browse torrents page resembles a TBDev tracker in its style and simplicity.

Returning as little as just 5 days ago, Pre-depot is an all-purpose ’scene-release only’ tracker. This time around, they didn’t migrate the old database to the new digs - so everyone who was a member at the old site will need to re-sign up. However, it may be possible to regain your old ratio (check the forums).

you are correct in that. I was a member back in the bitnation days and then they switched over to bakedbits and they basically could do nothing right. They screwed a whole lot of donors in both incarnations. Kinda funny how the old database isn’t going to be imported. What a scammy joke this tracker and it’s douchebaggy staff are. Wonder what happened to those who were dumb enough to pay to leech off of their imaginary http://ftp.

Hi, I’m one of the owners at GloryBits. I would just like to say that we switched to Gazelle mainly for security reasons, as our hoster was uncertain about the old software being exploited. One of our long-term goals has been to make the site as close as possible to the original one, and we are taking major steps towards that goal, with the implementation of the TV Database. We’ll continue to try to bring back as much of the old GB as possible and encourage all those who weren’t there before to join us now.
