Want to find out which private trackers have the best pretimes? Looking for a particular scene release to see if it’s been pre’d? This, and a whole lot more can be found on P2P.IN - a new Pre Database IRC network; featuring channels such as #pre (for pre announces), #tracers (for torrent races), #search and others. P2P.IN’s IRC pre’s contain some unique addons which aren’t found in any other IRC networks (which we’ll explain) - plus, a web-based version is slated to be released soon which is set to even include tracer stats “live” on the ‘net. Definitely worth bookmarking!

P2P.IN Public Channels

Phase One of P2P.IN was recently launched to the public after several months of beta testing. This includes the usual fare of IRC services, such as these channels: #pre, #pre.info, #pre.spam, #tracers, #services & #search. But what makes this IRC network truly special is all the extra features unseen anywhere else. Here’s some extended info about each:

• #pre

  — for general pre’s with most of the categories filtered. All new pre’s are announced in this channel - details include proper scene titles (release name), release groups and category of each.

• #pre.info

  — for video info, mp3 info, release info (files & size) and genre announces. Here each release is broken down into individual specific INFO sections:

• • **[INFO]**

  - includes the size of release and number of files.

• • **[ViDE0 iNF0]**

  - shows video codec used [XviD], frames/sec [25.0], resolution [720x576], audio codec [MP3] and other audio info within the video release.

• • **[MP3 iNF0]**

  - shows year of (music) release [2009], hertz [44100], genre [Hip-Hop], type [Joint-Stereo], bitrate [204] and format [VBR-V2].

• • **[GENRE]**

  - Self-explanatory; each release is categorized into a proper genre.

  Music

  : (Jazz, Raggae, Pop, etc);

  TV/Movies

  : (Comedy, Drama, Horror…).

• #pre.spam

  — Announces proper scene release files that accompany a release - such as NFO, SFV and M3U, with external website links to them at P2P.IN. In order to view or download them - simply double-click a chosen file in #pre.spam to launch the weblink.

• • **[NFO]**

  - Each release is accompanied by an NFO file - it’s an ASCII txt file that is unique to each scene release and provides specific infomation about the release.

• • **[SFV]**

  - Most releases are also accompanied by an SFV (Simple File Verification) file - its purpose is to verify the integrity of all the files using a CRC check.

• • **[M3U]**

  ** - A file that is specific to music releases only. Also known as a playlist file, gives extended info about track listings, song titles, and other info.

• #tracers

  — (aka Torrent Racers or Torrent Races). Similar to [p2p-net.eu](/2008/08/17/the-new-p2p-irc-network-p2p-neteu/ “The New P2P IRC Network - P2P-NET.EU”) tracers but with a few more sites traced. For announced releases, tracker pretimes are compared and displayed for each ‘race’. Presently there are about 35 - you read it correctly - 35 different trackers listed.

• 
• • Trace v2.0 is launching soon - a unique & different approach not found elsewhere, will trace some untraced sites legally with the site staff permissions.
• #search

  — all commands for all channels are currently done through the #search channel (see #search explained below for more info).

• • Search v2.0 should be complete within two weeks, in v2.0 of search you can directly request NFO, SFV & M3U files to be ‘DCC sent’ to you by the bot. Other added features include additional search options like nukenet searches, history infos, etc.

#Search Explained

As mentioned, all searching and stats (!** commands) for P2P.IN’s #pre channels and #tracers are done through their #search channel only. Since releases are connected through different channels depending on the information available, it only makes good sense to have all commands centralized through one channel. Here’s a breakdown of commands in **#search:

!race

(for tracers)

If you want to see info about which private tracker that won the race for a particular release (aside from watching the #tracers channel) - in #search, type the command !race <rlsname> (without the brackets). The example below shows that PTM (Pretome) was the first tracker to upload this release, with a pretime of 1m 37s.

Note that the above command: !race Rihanna doesn’t include a proper release name (more like a wildcard search), thus only the last race is shown for the most recent pred release. Taking this a step further, the torrent race search can be honed in to show only a specific release, as long as the proper release name is supplied, such as:

!race American.Virgin.2009.DVDRip.XviD-DiVERSE

For the above specific release, ScT ‘won’ the race with a pretime (after pre time) of 1 minute, followed by 17 other trackers.

!pre

(for pre announce info)

The !pre command can also be employed to search for & display info about a particular release by using !pre <query> (without brackets). For our example in the screenshot below, !pre rihanna shows the most recently announced release. Information provided includes proper release name; category [MP3]; how many files and size of release; time and date the release was pre’d; [NUKE] info, if applicable and why; how many trackers were indexed in the torrent race (traced in).

!pre will also show release files that are available **[NFO]**

**[SFV]

[M3U]

** as found in the #pre.spam channel. Also, any additional INFO available such as these tags - **[ViDE0 iNF0]**

or **[MP3 iNF0]**

can be found in the respective #pre.info channel.

!dupe

This will show **[DUPE]**

releases for a chosen search criteria. All search results for !dupe are sent in a PM, and results are limited to just 10 releases (for generalized queries), so a refined query will yield more accurate results.

Other Commands

!prehelp - Use this to list the available commands.

You can also do !weekstats, !daystats, !monthstats, !hourstats, !db (and others) in #search. This will show the overall stats for the chosen command (time period), including tracers stats. The !db command will show the entire PreDB records of the P2P.IN network.

!group - coming soon; will show the statistics for a chosen release group.

The search functions are ever-evolving and new features are added daily, so it will be updated regularly. Some other unique commands like !history <query>, !nukenets, etc are also soon to be included.

Phase Two …and Beyond

Phase Two (and Three) of P2P.IN are slated to be released to the public before the end of 2009.

There’s some very exciting features coming in Phase 2, and that’s a web-based version similar to dupecheck websites (www.dup3.me) but entailing many more advanced features. There will be a full web search and real-time displaying of pre’s - users will be able to search via pre, traced history, and even download NFO, SFV, M3U files directly from the site.

But perhaps even more interesting is that tracers will be published on the website. Never before seen, torrent races (trackers’ pretimes compared to one another in real-time stats for individual releases & overall) will be available on the Internet. This will certainly take out most of the guesswork to which private tracker has the best pretimes - you heard it here first!

Phase 3 is secret and the most surprising, but we can’t go into any detail just yet. Stay tuned!

    Its great to see how nice and welcoming the staff of P2P.in seem to be, they have really made a good impression on me and i cant wait to visit their fine IRC-network.
    Not but seriously guys, its pretty obvious to anyone who has ever been on irc.p2p-net.eu that you are totally ripping off their concept down to the very last detail, sure you made a few minor adjustments and changed the names of the triggers and maybe you even wrote your own scripts but you still stole the idea and coming in here calling everyone fags for saying that isnt really going to help you.
    Instead of alienating ppl and calling them faggots and whatnot for stating facts come up with some original ideas and stop ripping off others ideas and also stop echoing other ppls prechannels and tracer channels. I also suggest that you ask the sites whos announce you are relaying to a public channel for their permission before doing so or you will just piss off even more ppl.
