Vizz.tv Exposed - A Review of the $24 TV Tracker
November 05, 09 by sharky 6,472 views
Here’s one tracker you won’t be finding invitations floating around for, and that’s Vizz.tv. As many already know, this new TV tracker only offers membership through a $24 yearly fee. As luck would have it, we were fortunate enough to find a subscriber who granted us unconditional access. Presenting the Net’s first (and only) review of Vizz.tv, in which we explore if Vizz really lives up to the hype.

Vizz.tv has Scene Axx… So What
For those who follow public & private IRC #tracer and #pre channels - you may have noticed a new kid on the block - Vizz.tv. One thing is certain: Vizz certainly has scene access, and it shows in their pre times and overall number of races.
ScT
On ScT’s tracer channel, which has long been regarded as a reputable benchmark among private trackers who compete in ‘torrent races’, Vizz stats are as follows:
- Torrents raced: 1,248
- Been #1 - 62 times (4.97% win average)
- Been #2 - 125 times (10.02% average)
- Been #3 - 179 times (14.34% average)
- In Top 3 - 366 times (29.3% of the time, Vizz appears in the Top 3 races)
Trac3
Vizz is also listed at Trac3.me, a public preDb/trace website. As shown at www.trac3.me/?site=ViZZ, Vizz stats are somewhat similar to ScT’s - and perhaps more forgiving:
- Torrents raced: 4,002
- Been #1 - 346 times (8.65% win average)
- Been #2 - 589 times (14.72% average)
- Been #3 - 766 times (19.14% average)
- In Top 3 - 1,701 times (42.5% of the time, Vizz appears in the Top 3 races)
(The discrepancy in figures related to different torrent race statistics involves a variety of different factors, none of which we’ll even begin to explain). We should also note that Vizz is not listed at p2p-net.eu’s Tracers channel, for reasons unknown. But one thing is clear: Vizz is a competent tracker in reference to pretimes, at least for scene TV releases.
Vizz.tv Stats:
Vizz’ tracker lists a total of 6,500 torrents, although only 1,000 are active. It’s unclear if some of the total torrent stats are carry-overs from the old site Bitt.tv - but we would suspect so. Delving into the age of their torrents it appears that the "new Vizz" began getting serious about adding scene releases in mid-September.
Vizz.tv currently has 93 members and 1,028 active torrents, with in excess of 150 new torrents added daily.

The Bottom Line:
Scene access means fresh, fast content and the ability to add an insane amount of new torrents. Vizz doesn’t disappoint, and easily serves up ~150 torrents daily. However, all of the same content can be found on your favorite scene tracker (SCC, ScT, GFT) or even on ’scene/P2P’ hybrids such as TorrentLeech, RevolutionTT or IPTorrents. Is Vizz.tv worth paying for? Not a chance.
One anomaly that we noticed which needs to be fixed, is when we downloaded .torrents - they always append the https:// tracker to the announce URL, which clearly doesn’t work - Vizz has yet to set up a https tracker. For this, we were required to edit the announce and remove the ’s’ from the URL in order to force the torrents to connect to the tracker.
For $24 one would hopefully assume that Vizz would be a leecher’s paradise, especially if everything was properly hosted on seedboxes, which it isn’t. Ratio/H&Rs — No definitive evidence suggests Vizz is a ratio-free tracker (ratio is still recorded). Both their Rules & FAQ don’t shed much light on this being otherwise.

Seriously, what the fuck is with these profiteering trackers these days, and why the hell is FSF promoting them.
Rule #1 in the file sharing world. File sharing aint for profit.
What a bunch of bullshit.
03 • too much hype Says: 05.11.09 at 1:11 am
This was already there so, I just have to agree with what was here already.
04 • Sonikku Says: 05.11.09 at 1:14 am
LOL, hope the admins enjoy it when the feds fuck fuck up their lives. Stay away from sites like these, as nothing but trouble can come from them.
05 • RAVEN Says: 05.11.09 at 1:14 am
totally agree with me this is just some one looking for a quick buck or 2

“You guys can’t join until you pay”
Hmmm…..
Wait a second, this all sounds so familiar!!!
Good job guys at the MPAA meatwagon, you’ve finally convinced people to pay for file-sharing through a scheme to make you look like a legit torrent tracker.
But hey check this out —————– > We are still more clever than you

Also you should stay away when this is on their front page: “will update main page when i can, still lurning html :P”
But at the same time, the likely hood of getting an account with one of the private sites listed about is slim so why not pay the 24 bucks and get shit as its released?
08 • Anon-e-mous Says: 05.11.09 at 1:51 am
Ha Vizz in the top 3 42% of time I seriously, seriously question those numbers. They are in the top ten maybe 42% of the time. Who would pay for a tracker like this?
09 • Yarkz Says: 05.11.09 at 2:07 am
So what if they have good pretimes if the content is not on seedboxes than the download speeds will be so slow that it’s faster to wait a few seconds for it to be on another tracker.

Thank you for exposing their bullshit, FSF.
I feel bad for the people who actually fall for this, wondering about just how amazing the tracker must be if you need to pay, hopefully this will stop that from happening as much now.

Glad to see that most of us agree that true filesharing is that which is non-profit.Anything else is criminal and these fuckers giving us a bad name deserve all the misery that is coming their way.
The real scene is busy weeding them out and I think its high time the real P2P stood up and said enough is enough and cleaned itself as well.

Clearly sharky has subscribed to the site.. dude atleast you could have removed the nick from the screen shots
even with access to the site please get your facts right.. in the forum it clearly states that invite system is being worked on, and users are requesting invites.. and yes at the moment only subscribers have unlimted access to torrents but will change once levels are finished
invitees will be put on a ratio system but will not get banned for low ratio but will only get access to ALL TV including packs.. ( so even if your ratio is bad your not kicked out like other sites… but there is warning given out to HnR’s worst case banned for being an ass)
and ffs site was setup for it’s x members was never indended to go public till the invitee system was 100%
sharky did you ever try contacting the staff there i bet you didn’t and don’t go around telling your readers that one of their users gave you unlimited access..
022 • p2l Says: 07.11.09 at 9:12 am
SCC charge for invites, and donations. Frankly you think you’re all turning a blind eye, but in reality the top sites of private trackers are all making undisclosed profits, and it’s not hard to do. You also don’t need to be that good, all you need is a good sized membership based and the dialup users pay you because they’re all stupid enough not be be able to use usenet.
023 • communism.torrent Says: 09.11.09 at 8:32 pm
The whole point of download copyrighted good is to avoid paying for them. Thus, paying for access to a torrent site is completely counter-intuitive. I have never paid for access to any torrent no matter how special it is. I also don’t give a fuck how expensive/time consuming it is to run a torrent tracker and how I should donate to keep it running. This isn’t capitalism, frankly, it’s quite the opposite.
024 • RandomGuy Says: 14.11.09 at 11:58 am
LOL at all the Vizz fanboys/staff
so what if sharky paid to make this review.. at least we can all see what a joke this whole site is.. shit you can find every torrent you need on most of the big trackers.. and if they make money through donations or advertising GOOD FOR THEM ! I know the amount of time and work that goes into running a popular torrent site. Its no easy thing. That said MAKING users pay is different and tbh.. its fucking lame
025 • Red Says: 14.11.09 at 2:11 pm
There are to many of these sites showing up, and they are not being received well. They are putting their members and themselves at risk by doing so. Paying to access a torrent tracker, the point of file sharing is two things. Getting non physical items for what they are worth, and at the same time spreading a strong message against shit like DRM, and the brutality of Anti Piracy groups against the small people.
All that these idiots are doing, in these pay to leech sites is setting a bad example of what file sharing is about. That’s right. Its called “File Sharing”, not “Pay to share”.
Other trackers may include an option for their members to donate and receive a reward such as upload credit or an invite to share with a good friend, this does not make them pay to leech. Paying 24$ to access a tracker, that is just stupid, and downright dangerous.
I highly recommend that no one, as tempting as this may sound, even considers paying for these idiots as they are in no way a representation of what the file sharing community is all about.
026 • flamingturd Says: 17.11.09 at 5:00 pm
this shit wont last long i imagine. and to the idiots willing to pay a subscription fee for this shit, they deserve it imo, i hope the feds or your agency of choice rapes them.
027 • another Says: 25.11.09 at 12:30 pm
only 93 members lol
they suck
028 • Warningu2 Says: 29.12.09 at 7:37 pm
The admins for this site have spent countless hundreds hours and money to develope it. If they ask that people pay $2 a month for the service, how is this lame and that they suck? In the past a few devotees donated for everyone’s access benefit and the admins scrabbled to make bills each month. Who really sucks are the people that post torrents on other “better sites” with password protected keys and spyware. So review those sites in future please.
