HDBits.org to Open Invite System For One Day Only
December 16, 09 by sharky 15,572 viewsIf you’re relatively new to private trackers within the past year or so, then chances are you’ve never had the opportunity to join the Internet’s best HD tracker. But here’s some great news for HD fanatics! HDBits.org is opening their invite system for one day only on Monday, December 21st. For those who are unfamiliar with HDBits, it’s unquestionably the premier tracker for all things HD-related.
Invites have been closed for quite a while now, and we figure there are probably some good users out there somewhere who would like an account. As such, we are going to allow sending of invites all day on the 21st of December (next monday (to clarify - this is GMT, and invites will be able to be SENT on the 21st)).
To accompany this special occasion, there will be a free leech (no download counted) for the entire week beginning on the 21st and ending at the close of the 27th.

It’s actually been more than "a while" since HDBits closed down their invite system to anyone other than VIP and staff; in fact, it been an entire 12 months - the last time invites were available (for regular users) to send out was back on December 17th, 2008.
Why is HDBits essentially a closed-system? Two words: Invite sellers (and buyers), such as seen in this example. Invites to HDBits were always a hot-commodity, often appearing on eBay and torrent auction sites & forums in exchange for an absurd amount of cash - none of which went to HDBits.
Be well advised: Anyone caught doing so will promptly have their accounts deleted. HDBits is not a tracker to fuck with. The decision to temporarily open invites wasn’t something done hastily, nor was it to increase activity or membership. It’s to give an opportunity for aspiring members a chance to get into this great tracker.

How to Get Invited:
1.) Hook up with an online friend at HDBits who is eligible to receive invites.
2.) Put a "request" in early for an invite on a popular torrent forum (TR, TPS, Etiv, etc) as HDBits is not considered a "no movement" tracker.
— Tip #1: Don’t do "invite giveaways" for HDBits invites (and of course, don’t attempt to sell them). Sure, this only lasts for 24 hours so a GA just isn’t worth it.
— Tip #2: Ask your potential invitee about his/her knowledge on high-definition standards. If memory serves me correctly, there’s a skill-testing question on the signup page. Potential Invitees: Do your homework on HD.
— Tip #3: Watch for country ban. We can’t confirm that the following countries are banned, but word is: Poland, Egypt, Israel, Turkey, China (and possibly Romania) are banned from HDBits. Research your potential invitee carefully.

HD-Creek is mirroring most stuff on Hdbits and quite easy to get invite to HD-creek.
Not the same speed on HD-Creek as there isnt as many users with seedboxes there, but th speed will be better as more members join.

@BLOOD: Yeah, unfortunately not many people leeches old torrents there, and if you got slow upload you’re in a very bad spot, although they give you ‘points’ (you get a certain amount points/day depending how much you seed), and the ‘points’ can be traded for upload-ratio there. They also got some freeleech-torrents all the time, for newbies to build up their ratio.

Alright, I’m one of the more venerable torrenters that has decided to seize this opportunity, scourged myself a kind soul, and managed to get a promised invite. I’ve always heard great things about this tracker and its community, and if some of these elitist comments are anything like the community I should expect when I join up, I’m not so sure I would like to any longer. It seems it’s commonplace for this tracker’s members to sneer at other trackers’ misfortunes (namely ScT) given the chance, how friendly.
Now, for a more serious response from me. How many of you bitches would actually talk like this if you were a member, and if you were under HDB staff moderation? None. You’ll all keep your traps shut, and say welcome to all the new members. Facade or not, you will still be nice and courteous, and that should not be abandoned once you’re anonymous on these comments. Have respect for those who might be your future tracker buds.

it is a general human mentality that humans runs behind obtaining a thing which is scarce.
i think people trade hdbits.org account and invites becasue they are rare. so their is more fuss of it. i think if the site is frequently open for signup every month then the amount of trade will certainly decrease to a great extend.
I think staff at hdbits.org want to make their tracker an elite tracker, so they have closed the invite system.
otherwise they will be knowing the above simple rule.
any way i like TL in this respect, really if u have tl u have almost every thing.
being such a great tracker, invites of tl are not that hard to find. staff of TL is also very good
more over it is also easy to seed and has lots of peer activiy. i think hdbits.org should learn from TL and they will sure be a greater tracker than what it is today.

TL being a great tracker is an irony. The website needs Adblock plus installed to be fully enjoyed, the staff think seedboxes that have insane speeds have a glitch, so on and so forth. TL is only heavenly for those who have no other choice. Now I’m not trying to be mean, I respect the place a lot, but more of it needs to be changed drastically if it’ll get anywhere near respectable in a lot of peoples’ eyes.

That’s TorrentBytes setup and I’d imaginge that it would work great for HDBits.org since all trading and selling/buying of accounts would stop.

I have not heard of any tracker on which i had not visited once. i have visited every site, i am over here since 10 years and i exactly know where to find a particular invite, and secondly i know all the right person at the right time.
u never know who is behind the nick so u can never be sure.

My dear man, the same could extend to you. It’s the curse of these comments, the anonymity behind the names, the impracticality of trying to prove who or what you are to the torrenting community. I will believe you, though, except for the 10 years part. The protocol has only been around for 8 years, now, unless you meant that you were here since the DCHubs days, then that’s a different story.
Also, I have heard many a story about how someone has downloaded something from TorrentLeech, only to be greeted by letters from their ISPs, so if you ask me, people should still be “thinking 2 to 3 times before downloading anything from” TL.
As for the ADs, there’s three kinds of people on TL. The people that will donate to get rid of the, the people who will ADBlock them, and the people who will get frustrated, enraged and end up abandoning the tracker due to the overwhelming number of ADs. I fall into the last category of those listed, and I’m not going to change my browser, nor be forced to donate to enjoy a torrenting experience that is available everywhere else, hassle free. What.CD has a member base nearly as big as TLeech’s, possibly twice as active, and yet they see no compulsive need to trouble users in this sort of way.
I never meant to personally attack you, I just meant that if anyone truly believed that TL was haven escape, then they have obviously never been presented by a better option. There are places with pretimes much better than TL’s, with speeds much higher than attainable at TL, and they remain no ratio. Hope you understand what I meant more, now.

FTN SCC PtN, hell, all trackers are full of these scumbags invite/account traders/sellers, just check the trade forums and you’ll see that even FTWR and ScT were full of them just a few days before their fall.
FTN is supposed to be such a 1337 place… how many accounts trades and sells have I seen? I can’t even recall
We HAVE TO find another way to get rid of them, for good, because until now…everything that was done against them didn’t work, well it worked a little, but not enough to start a new invites round.
Just the fact that it’s posted here at filesharfreak shouldn’t happen, it prooves how lame their security is, along with all other tracker’s.
Sys-ops, staff, admins, coders, you have to work on something else, or if we don’t get rid of the bad apples all the good trackers are bound to become rotten to the bone.

I was a member at HDbits a year ago. I invited a friend to the site. Something happened to him and he was MIA from the site for awhile so they kicked him. He asked me to see if I could get his account reactivated. I gave him the IRC Information and told him to ask himself. Plead his case. I was banned a day later for giving out the IRC info. I feel my ban was wrong. I donated alot of money to that site and to be banned that quickly for something so small is ludacris. I want my money back. Or atleast my invite back.
