AnimeByt.es Offers Rare ‘Open Signups’ to Anime, Hentai, J-Music Fans

When FSF first reviewed AnimeByt.es back in July, we didn’t expect them to take off like they did. This awe-inspiring Gazelle tracker features 5,500 torrents for all things anime-related (anime, hentai, video games, anime music & soundtracks) as well as J-Music. Almost never open directly for public registration, Animebyt.es is slated to be open signup for two weeks from December 25th through January 8th.

AnimeByt.es - A Triple-Purpose Tracker

The content on AnimeByt.es is neatly partitioned into three sections (three distinct torrent ‘browse’ pages), each with their own unique search & tagging parameters. The first section is for none other than anime and all of its related media (manga, hentai, games & live action) in DVD, XviD & Blu-Ray (HD) formats. The second section includes J-music - both audio (MP3 and FLAC) as well as MDVDs & music videos. The third section contains OSTs/soundtracks for anime & video games and related music. Taken a few weeks back, the image below explains a better view of the available content:

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of doing a “tracker review” - that is; attempt to explain (in your own opinion) what a tracker is all about, then you’ll appreciate how difficult this task can be. Some trackers are overly simple; which leads to the problem of trying to fill it with real substance. Other trackers are so complex that it’s nearly impossible to “get it right” - AnimeByt.es is one of those trackers. Animebyt.es may just be one of the most sophisticated Gazelle trackers that exists.

AnimeByt.es - Unique Features

Without question, Animebyt.es is easily the Internet’s most highly-organized anime tracker. Through their array of features, it’s easy to find exactly what you’re looking for. The coding is simply spectacular; exactly what an anime tracker should be. Features: Too many to count since they have such an active development team, but here’s a list of most of them.

Series List — To compliment grouping & tagging, there’s also a Series page which lists anime as browseable torrents by series name - making it extremely easy to find anything you’re looking for. Some cool other series “listings” found in the Series page of the site (listing of all anime/manga/VN/etc by series + studio + episodes + year + more). There are roughly 6,100 anime series in existence - of these, there are 1,712 anime series totaling 10,780 episodes which have been uploaded to AnimeByt.es.

Collages — The collages are user-created indexes of similar torrents - such as ‘Oricon Top 275 Best Selling Albums in Japan’ and ‘Japan Media Arts: Top 10 Anime of All Time’.

Extended information for each anime release through the torrent description pages, including:

  • - Plot Synopsis

    - a short description of the plot for each episode.

  • - Song & Soundtrack Info

(OP/ED). A chart which lists each opening (OP) and ending (ED) song for every anime release and video game which has thus far been uploaded. It also displays the name of the song and artist (linking back and forth the anime and J-music sections).

  • - Episode Listing & Release Info

, each with their own plot synopsis and original air dates - as well as a list of “related” episodes for the series.

  • - Character and Seiyuu Listing

(voice actor listings). Lists each character of the show, that character’s voice actor, and how many series each the character and voice actor has been a part of. Clicking on either the character name or voice actor name will show a collage of the other series the character / voice actor has been a part of, including a bio.

  • - Extended Anime Info

(official links, # of episodes, runtime, airdates, director, production studio, etc).

• Official AniDB, ANN and Wikipedia links for the anime releases:

Hentai Allowed — Unlike many other anime trackers, AnimeByt.es isn’t afraid to allow Hentai content, although this function can be disabled in the search. TIP: if you want to display only hentai, select “Fap” from the ‘Hentai?‘ dropdown in the search, and click ‘Filter Torrents’ - currently lists 437 torrents (both cencored and uncensored material).

Three distinct upload

pages for anime, J-Music and OST releases; as well as three separate torrent browse pages.

Seiyuu browse - for voice actor & character pages (and related torrent links).

Character browse - users can search for specific anime character names, which displays a list of related torrents.

• Unique Bonus System (Konbini) - a bonus/seed system with points awarded based torrent type, torrent size, etc - so it’s easy to keep up a good ratio.

XDCC bot for serving ongoing series (not-yet-completed anime series).

• An extremely detailed & advanced anime search function.

• Animebyt.es allows licensed materials (as opposed to bakabt.com).

• SSL browsing - can be forced through the userCP.

• Everything is freeleech until January 8th, 2010.

  1. 8787224 Says:

Only good in appearance, failed as anime source.

  2. schippie Says:

yah, this site is crap, lol you get 10 up:D for the rest it sucks:D

  3. 123456789 Says:

After registering for this website, my wife whom has been separated from me for 10 years has renewed our marriage.

    Thanks Animebyt.es!

  4. Johnson Says:

It’s actually really good. It’s now my last stop for anything Anime related. And so much neater and more powerful than bakabt

  5. blackroseblade Says:

Lol @first two peeps. Dudes, never seen any tracker as powerful, clean, or organised as this one. I joined thru invite, and I have never needed any other tracker since then. I do occassionally leech from other open trackers, but if there is anything that I do need, AB.es is my first stop and last resort!

  6. tcoppi Says:

Not sure what you first couple guys are on about, they’ve got every major series I could think of that’s finished airing, and a number of stuff I haven’t seen elsewhere. For such a small tracker they’ve got a surprising amount of content. I used baka quite a bit, but they never had any licensed stuff which meant a lot of the popular series weren’t there, I actually just checked the torrent count and baka only has like 1500 more torrents than this place yet 158k more members and it’s been up for much longer. The speeds here aren’t the best in the world, but for such a small user count I can’t say I’m overly surprised if there’s a lack of seeders or leechers.

Just my 2 cents, but a must have if you’re an anime fan, place has a lot of potential.

  7. Name (required) Says:

AnimeByt.es has a cold, crisp taste that deeply satisfies.

  8. Anime Fan Says:

AnimeByt offers nothing more than ADC+Baka-BT+nyatorrents and none of those three need invitation. Their classification system is truly horrible and would confuse you more than helping you. Can’t think of any reason to join that place. As an anime fan, I haven’t downloaded one single byte from that tracker yet. The least is that Baka-BT and ADC have real communities and mods while God knows who is running AnymeByt.

  9. Ergo Says:

    Wow, #08.
You sound like some disgruntled torrenter who got kicked off private trackers, and thus has some sort of personal dislike for said private trackers.

“real communities and mods while God knows who is running AnymeByt.” lol. What kind of statement is that? Haven’t heard something that ignorant in a while.

  10. Trackback :: Helloooo~!! « Hello!Project Heaven

[…] wait, do it right away and enjoy the site! ;D And a new review have been written as well at FSF. Well that thing cleared now, and i havn’t forgotten the updates just because it’s […]

  11. blah Says:

Amazing to see how people comment after being on the site for 2 minutes then coming up here shoving their opinions all over the place. Interesting, really.

This is one of the better organized sites i have been to. Interesting bonus system and offers very detailed information on almost every related to anime.

  12. Average Says:

Well, mixed opinions about this tracker. Got in this way before thru a invite. Pretty much content but the seeds are bad. Not much activity on torrents and the ‘browse’ is kinda messy. I still believe Direct Downloads are best for anime.

  13. ERm Says:

Not that good after browsing through the torrents. Anyway, thanks for the info.

  14. The-Internet Says:

I am of mixed opinion as well. Nyaa and BakaBT comparisons aren’t really fair ATM - those are semi/public and have been around for a minute. Lots of redundancy in the anime torrent world … I can see AB growing into something great. Maybe. Decent selection, has some obscure stuff I’ve been looking for, dig the wiki, support for licensed content is a plus … but GAD that interface. It really is vomitous, all search boxes and emoticons and CLICK HERE TO SHOW/HIDE NONEXISTANT LISTS. “Sophisticated” is too kind. I’d go with “databombed”. Decent private anime trackers are a tough racket. Hope these guys make it.

  15. Mama_Russia Says:

Very good soure of anime and Jmusic.

  16. BrokenSouL Says:

Posters 1,2 and 8 and anyone else who badmouths this tracker: In the words of Peter Banning, go suck a dead dog’s nose.

The staff at AnimeByt.es are frigging legends and work tirelessly to improve the site, yet stupid comments like that exist. And to say:

“AnimeByt offers nothing more than ADC+Baka-BT+nyatorrents”

This is utter nonsense. Also, I get some of my uploads from sources other than those mentioned, so HA ;) Comments like that make me mad, they really do.

  17. og Says:

i like the design wish there were more seeders but i guess that comes from a tracker growing into it’s own

  18. RARE_MY_ASS Says:

    RARE ……….ROFL
they were open twice already in last 2-3 months
+ they are giving 5 INVITES… LMAO “rare”

  19. Yuri Says:

lol @ 18. Oh man, I really do feel bad about your lack of ability to count, or even observe for that matter. I got invited to AB in it’s early stages, and they’ve only ever opened registrations once - Sep. 1, for like 3 days.

And to be honest, I’m surprised at the amount of trolls here. The only other private anime tracker I’ve seen - animatoonic - couldn’t even make it past a year. If anything, the staff at AB deserve a massive pat on the back for 1) making such a beautiful site, 2) making a site that seems to be sustaining itself fairly well, 3) providing such a solid alternative to the limited+public offering from bakabt/nyaa.

Sure, it’s not perfect - seeders are definitely one issue. But the amount of time they’ve put into developing unique features and keeping it easy to maintain a ratio (anime/album of the week + seed point system) is amazing. I believe they opened registrations to help keep a balance between their low user count and overflowing amount of content (5500 torrents with only 1600 members?! ridiculous!). You can’t really blame them… the content is there - they just need more good users to keep things active.

Shame on everyone who trolled just for the sake of trolling. We should be supporting trackers like this so they can grow and prosper.

  20. Bah Says:

Then i suggest you go do that and have fun. But let people talk about their opinions as they feel like. What are you, if you cannot take critism? A dictator

  21. thuyquai Says:

you guy should use fansub’s tracker for their release, first source for sure =.=

  22. Level Says:

While there are many public trackers that have been mentioned, the torrents on them for older series will die out eventually because of the fact they reside on public trackers. AB, while it does seem overly complicated at first, is very simple to get used to and offers the Konbini/Yen system in which you gain currency to help maintain a great ratio.

It seems really simple to me, not sure why everyone is complaining that it’s impossible to find anything; There is a rounded text box near the top of every page that has the words “Series” in it, click here and type the anime you’re looking for. If someone has uploaded it, you’re in luck! look at the offers and decide which you want (I always opt for h.264 and SoftSubs) as there are images in the torrent names that show which contain what type of content. Then you download it and wait. I’m grabbing about 10 animes right now, so I’m pleased~

  23. antology Says:

    simple thing :
    RevTT invite for trade

    2 RevTT invite for just any ONE of this site …. ( SCC : BCG : PTN : GFT : TL : x264 : Waffles : What : BMTV : Bitme : BHTV )

prefer SCC and TL … just sent your offer to irwan.wahab@accountant.com and i will consider it. email only because i not seeing this thread anymore. thanks

  24. blood Says:

good tracker , but low on High defintioin anime

  25. jesus Says:

For christ sake, those invite traders are noobs. Why would i need 2 invites from revtt anyways?? they suck badly

  26. godsend Says:

anybody wants a free invite to ipt…message me at
    mangathengachakka@gmail.com

  27. godsend Says:

am also ready to give away free invite codes to tvt.ro or freshon.tv

mail me at the above said email id
    happy holidays

  28. omfg Says:

sorry but Nyaa and BakaBT are ugly as hell ;)

  29. flipyours Says:

I fucking love AB. If you don’t like it you can shut the fuck up and just not use it. I’ve found almost everything I’ve wanted to see anime-wise there. and how the hell is the browse overly complicated? It’s just got more features than your run of the mill Gazelle tracker.

  30. anon Says:

Fuck.Great site but it needs more active members!!!!

  31. llllll Says:

Running a private anime tracker is a very difficult job
    Appreciate the staff work

  32. CUL8R Says:

AB is good, seeds are not that bad and seeding is easy, at least now with the freeleech going on, I’ve downloaded a 4GB hentai uploaded 1h before, got the whole file in less than 30mn (seeder was on fast connection apparently) and I got more than 10GB uploaded, I have a 100MB connection so it helps for sure, but uploading 10GB in 24h seems pretty good to me, leechers must have fast connections too.
And about their classification, it’s great, takes a little time to see how it works but if you aren’t stoopid you’ll surely manage to understand.
Choice of animes is great for a private tracker, by the way, private means secure that’s why I stay away from all public sites, we anime fans need a site like this one, run by good staff who love what they do.

What this site needs, like all specialized private tracker do, is many new uploads very often, no matter if your connection is slow, give us the content and we’ll keep it alive on fast connections.

  33. rollingface Says:

Just because It’s private doesn’t mean it’s better. Last time I bothered checking in with the site it was impossible to seed do to like 1 seeder and 0 leechers for everything. BakaBT and nyatorrents are way better. Not to mention most fansubbers already have XDCC bots or seedboxes.

    Fuck this.

  34. Hotfile Links Says:

damn ,registrations are closed now, should have read this sooner.. much sooner

  35. Kashiwara(Darkbalmunk) Says:

I love the trolling, but bakabt is like your everyday beer, animebyt.es is your god damn vodka viva la revolution guys.
