Today, EuReKA announced he is leaving his very-own tracker in search of greener pastures. Awesome-HD never really did achieve the stellar popularity that he would have expected, thus he finally threw in the towel. EuReKA (aka Rabomil) has unexpectedly announced a partnership with HD-Torrents - well, sort of. Awesome-HD.com is was redirecting over to HD-Torrents.org - which in celebration of their newly prized arrival have decided to open registration for the next 4 or 5 days.

Existing members of Awesome-HD won’t be able to login with their user/pass on HD-Torrents, but are able to create a new account through open signups. It’s unclear if individual user stats (upload credit) can or will be imported over to HD-T - but it’s doubtful. Also unknown is if other encoders from A-HD (FTW-HD, xander, wsp@, etc) will be following EuReKA in the move.
In a strange twist, Awesome-HD members can still login to the site at http://vs0123.flosoft-servers.net. It’s also now clear that EuReKA/Rabomil took the A-HD domain with him. Look for an entirely new domain to surface soon, which is said to be created at http://awesome-hd.net. Whether or not A-HD can survive without EuReKA remains to be seen.

Lately several things have happened within the staff of Awesome-HD which made me decide to leave Awesome-HD.
Today I told the staff of Awesome-HD that I would leave Awesome-HD for HD-Torrents. I also asked them to change their domain before the beginning of next month.
Not long after my announcement to leave AHD my account there got disabled. This made me decide to link the domain awesome-hd.com to HD-Torrents. I’m not proud of this move, but the staff of AHD went too far by disabling my account.

The True Story
As you all know there have been some changes with the site. To explain this we are going to first give you a history lesson.
EuReKA were once internal encoders on Bit-HDTV where they remained happily for quite some time until a certain member couldn’t handle user comments about his uploads. So he decided to pack up the whole of the release group and jump ship first releasing to Usenet before maddane, one of our sysops approached EuReKA with the idea of setting up a new tracker.
Awesome-HD was born.
Short after the initial launch jrsdead, sysop, joined the team. The site went through a number of revisions before settling on the current gazelle based site that we have now. All was fine in the world, or so it seemed.
It was at this point with the site attracting more members and other internal release groups that the previous issues from Bit-HDTV reared their head again. Our ex admin was unable to handle creative criticism from users or competition, other release groups, so he started to hand out ridiculous warnings and instant bannings to anyone who didn’t agree with him.
This is where it came to a head, he banned one of our staff before christmas without consulting anyone else or trying to rectify the situation with the other staff member. This led to a lot of bad blood amongst the staff that we kept behind closed doors as this sort of thing should have been handled. However it was decided that changes needed to be made.
It was with this that it was decided that he should step down from the admin post and concentrate instead on the role of internal encoders. The rest of the staff had decided that the previously banned staff member should be brought back as in our eyes he should never have been banned in the first place. Of course this was too much for our ex admin to handle so he decided today to leave AHD and as a last ditch attempt at sabotage he decided to take the domain name with him. It was his domain to take, however he had given us until the end of the month to get a new one. His DNS change of the domain to hd-torrents has left many users not knowing what has happened. Just to clarify: From his announcement on the staff forum, it took him less than 60 minutes, to take down the domain.
So with a stranded webserver, the entire AHD Staff was summoned, who have been working all night on getting the site up under the domain name Awesome-HD.net.
Due to the change of domain, you will need to re-download all the files. We are terribly sorry about this, but we did not see this coming.
We’re working hard on getting all back up again, so please bear with us.

Just a note…do not join HD-Torrents and post any link to Awesome-HD… I joined through the redirect, and got banned almost immediately for posting the temporary URL in the forums for everyone who was asking about the state of AHD. Seemed a bit harsh and cold to do IMO, but life goes on.

It’s clear now that Rabomil is the problem. He’s an asshole, plain and simple. It’s obvious from his comments, even back when he was on Bit-HDTV. The guy thinks he’s God’s gift to man and he’s the best HD encoder in the world. I guess the only thing I can praise him for is starting A-HD which is now a great site (and will continue to be without him). I’m sure another group will take up the slack there as others did when he ditched Bit-HDTV.

I posted the new URL on hd-torrents and got banned immediately. Not cool. They could learn to be more empathetic since this may very well happen to them in a couple of months. I’m not worried about A-HD’s survival as I think they have enough encoders to make up for the loss of Eureka and their quality check system ensures a superior product.

Wit, Ramiel, like every respectable site we don’t allow spam, NO ONE will allow it! The decisions are made by owners and administrators and if there is a way to do this it’s not spam. HDT is not A-HD we sorry for the 9000 users and all stats for them, that’s why with Ramobil together have decided to open the tracker for a few days to give a chance to be with the owner of the site the “Domain holder”
Just a note: i dont want to heart no one, but this is the reality, fact who no one can miss, i hope it will be for good and for the progress of the all HD Community!

I understand your right to determine what you feel to be spam. I felt that I was doing my best to help out the other confused Awesome-HD members who found themselves at HD-Torrents without knowing what was going on. I guess my complaint was that the situation could have been handled with more respect to the users who are just doing what they feel to be the right thing for everyone.

Both sites are crappy,, HD-Torrents is too overrated and does not provide user friendly. All they care about are stats stats stats. I can understand that you need to maintain a good ratio and shit but man, also important to let people have some fun and dont need to worry TOO much about the stats. Pathetic and childish behaviour by a tracker really. I have a ton of respect for SCC and a number of other trackers that rallied and went out of their way to help out ex-ScT members, and here we have the lame HD-torrents staff banning people just for helping some other members figure shit out. Many website staff members have seen the same sort of thing happen with their members. Someone gets an idea about how to run the site and wants to change rules, the other members or the sysop does not agree and they leave in anger or start doing things their way resulting in a ban of that staff member. We have had an ex member hijack our irc channel, we had ex members setting up their own new and ‘improved’ sites/trackers.
I personally do not like banning members, but in a lot of instances we had people who can not seem to leave things alone. They have to have their revenge even though there is no thing to have revenge for..
In my personal experience, there are very few people who can simply go their separate way without making a fuzz. There’s a ton of websites out there that may welcome you as a member and where you can make a fresh start.
I also have to say that there are a ton of websites out there where staff members are simply a bunch of jerks who can not or will not make an objective assessment and take the easy way out of any situation.

Rabomil is really just a child and cant take any criticism of his work - as soon as he gets offended he expects his weight to fall on the offending posts and the admins to support his childish rants. He did the same at BitHDtv - he left them for the same reason.
HD Torrents I have been a member of and while they have alot of HD Content - they have almost no freeleech torrents - LAME! Its is a site just aspiring to be one of those top level Sites where everyone wants to get in and its closed all the time - but the reality is - dont waste your time - i get far more hd content from CZ team, Leecheers Lair etc or even demonioud - look for the medium general trackers. WHere the trackers are populated by too many with seedboxes - they tend to have almost no freeleech and most of the upload credit goes to those with seedboxes. Stay in your high palace - ive been a memeber or every high demand hd site - except HDbits.org, and they are all the same - hard like hell to seed after youve downloaded a 10 GB file. End up trying to downloading all kinds of crap with high amount of leechers to build a ratio - I have a 10 mb/1mB UL cnx

Not that his encodes were worth anything anyway. Usually they were bigger than the source (BluRay/HDTV), because, he added extra grain. OMG! Yeah degraining a movie removes detail, but it’s not like extra added grain will somehow increase the detail. It just adds distortion. Same as if you were to take a 480p movie, resize it to 1080p and expect it to have even more detail. Big fail.
I’m glad HDBits got rid of him before I joined. On the other hand, it might have been nice to follow the e-drama that undoubtly followed the ban.

The truth is though, it makes no difference where eureka goes. If you have a site like TL, eureka releases can be found there among other places, and the swarm health will be way better than any hd tracker, especially over time. You’ll find that swarms will die out on a tracker like a-hd or presumably even hdt. With a big tracker like TL, this never happens.
If you don’t have a site like TL (e.g. ipt, ptm,rtt, etc), you’re missing out big time. Specialty torrent sites are nice, but nothing beats a good general tracker like TL. You don’t have to deal with drama of having terrible admins, and everything gets cross uploaded from other sites. NPW is on TL, vision is on RevTT, etc. Groups that have no egos like NPW and vision deserve the good comments.

Im reg. at HD torrents over 1 year or so. Maybe the tracker is bad coded, whatever that means. HDT had alot and i mean alot golden torrents, some docu pack over 40gb each. They had to remove the “freeleech” thing, because too many didnt seed back them, me included[i only upload the packs back 30,40gb and so on].
So overall the site is very friendly, noone there is acting weird or iny any way harmful. Take this oportunity, and start dl the golden and seed them back. Im pretty sure, the old ones at hdt will seed back the other torrents if requested.[Not too many "real"Uplaoders].
I like hdt, there tracker was among the fastest. Give it a try, u got 4,5 days for that.

When you think of EUREKA you will think of the best encoded movies of alltime!
