Anyone who’s ever tried searching for
audiobooks on private trackers probably knows how difficult they are
to find. Since release groups tend to shy away from releasing
audiobooks, scene/0day trackers are of no use, and most “elearning”
trackers have very little to offer, either. You’ll find plenty if you’re
fortunate enough to have an account at What.CD or Waffles; even Demonoid
has a decent selection. But ABTorrents.com
(Audio Book Torrents) might just be the only private tracker that caters
exclusively to audiobooks, and prides itself on high-quality releases.
Although there are no restrictions to what type of audiobooks are allowed at ABTorrents, content leans heavily towards fictional and unabridged releases. Here you’ll find popular novels from Stephen King, Dan Brown, Michael Crighton, Nelson DeMille, Dean Koontz.

New Activity — While ABTorrents has been around since September ‘09, they’re really beginning to hit their stride in the first quarter of 2010. Nearly 50 new torrents have been added over the past week, as well as a recent surge in forum activity.
Content — Again, most audiobook releases pertain to fictional novels in MP3 format (not iPod M4A or M4B, although these are also allowable containers). MP3 is the preferred format, since it’s universal.
Requests/Bonus — Members can make requests in the forums. Bonus system lets members trade seed points into invites, upload GBs, etc.
Uploading — All members are permitted to upload torrents. NOTE: They have a policy of only one IP per account (the same IP you signed up with), so if you want to upload or download using a seedbox, be sure to PM a staff member first (they’ll enable seeding/leeching from any IP address, upon request).
Anonymity — By default, site usernames are hidden & not displayed in the uploaded torrents.

ABTorrents is definitely a must-have tracker for anyone who loves audiobooks. Content isn’t all that diversified; but that’s exactly what makes this tracker have a niche focus. If you’re looking for learning & docs audiobooks, grab yourself an elearning tracker or stick to W & W. But if it’s fictional mainstream & classic audiobooks you seek, then you’ll agree that ABTorrents has a lot to offer.

this uses the same codebase as myanonamouse and cattorrent, and fails to be as good as either. i’ll keep my account for now, but i doubt there’ll be anything to find that isn’t on either of those sites.

Cattorrent.net has over 3200 audio books/eBooks to date. This private tracker caters only to audio books/eBooks (mostly audio books). Don’t overlook this wonderful resource!

Agreed, CatTorrent & MyAnonamouse are almost exclusively audiobooks, and myanonamouse especially has a fantastic community, lots of uploads, etc.

cattorrent has always has sporadic downtimes, they have not been down for weeks but rather up and down several times, i’m sure they will be up again soon. myanonamouse is down at the moment as well, probably just site maintenance.
although at first i felt it was kind of pointless to have a third audiobook site using the same design and codebase, unlike the other two AB focuses on fiction only, and seems to have a nice selection of collections that i don’t think can be found on the other two sites.
