Apply Online: Private Trackers With Invite Application Forms

Apart from shamelessly purchasing an invite from a private tracker directly (as our last post suggests), many trackers will offer non-members an opportunity to join through a web-based application form. Plug in a few details about yourself, explain why you want to join, cross your fingers and just maybe they’ll send an invitation your way. Unlike IRC interviewing, there’s no pressure on either the invitee or inviter, and potential members can take their time with the form to get it “right”. Below is a list of 19 trackers that you can apply directly to.

Private trackers that offer recruitment in this fashion are on the rise. One reason why trackers may opt for this style of invite system is to save manpower - inviteapps are much more efficient in contrast to conventional IRC interviews which tend to take up a lot of time (especially upon an initial announcement of such an invite channel). An online inviteapp can be just as effective at culling through a group of potential invitees, and staff can review the applications closely at a time that’s more convenient for them to do so.

TIPS

What you need to know about tracker web invite applications:

• The more effort you put into the application, and the more thorough your answers are, the more likely you’ll be accepted. Don’t rush it; you likely only have one shot at it. We can’t stress this point more vehemently: real people are going to read your answers. Rarely will failed applicants be able to reapply. Above all else, be truthful.

• Correctly assume that your IP address will be logged with the application. This is necessary for a number of reasons. Don’t use a web (cgi/php) proxy; this just shows you have something to hide.

• If you’ve been previously disabled on the same tracker you are now attempting to (re)apply for, don’t do it. Rather, visit their IRC help/support channel for options.

• Recruiting staff have a few tricks for discovering additional information about potential invitees, which may include your involvement in ‘torrent invite’ forums, or even if you’re a member of other trackers that you didn’t mention in the application.

IMPORTANT note about these applications: Most of the appforms listed below are completed through regular HTTP, not HTTPS. Using non-secure http, there’s always a chance that the information you provide insomuch as REAL profile links to other trackers, and/or screenshots of your accounts, could be intercepted or viewed. Do so at your own risk. Only a few offer secure http app forms, such as CN

, PtN

, ScienceHD

, Animebytes

& PackMe.in

.

  1. backie Says:

Where the fuck is the point in hiding PTN’s and CN’s urls when they have both opened up their app system for others and told their members to give out the url while alerting people to the apps?

  2. guest Says:

    Because they are dumb fucks.

  3. TOIDI Says:

PtN app. have been closed then why are you giving the url ?

  4. Backie-Should-DIAF Says:

You might want to fix your article. BTN’s invites are closed and the app is dead. Anybody who didn’t get in, sux for you.

P.S. Backie is a muppet who knows nothing about p2p or the scene.

  6. Crapola Says:

Crappy sites resorting to public apps because they can’t get good members through respectable methods of invites… what’s new?

  7. gAnDo Says:

Some new sites. Nice. Maybe one wont be useless after a couple months.

Nice work backie! Again, proving that you know fuck all about how torrenting works, even if you have created a blog sledging off everyone that either bans you, or your friends.

You know, those links are for giving away to people who are trusted, rather than just publishing. You should know that Backie, afterall, you do claim to know your way around the FS scene enough to be able to claim what is right and wrong, yea?

    Fuckin douche bag….

  10. a/s/l Says:

this is a really useful list, although certain ones like the CN link and BTN link aren’t working cos they closed signups recently (BTN closed theirs cos too many people were selling invites and cheating all over the place)

also, backie is basically a little toddler screaming for attention. ignore him.

  11. WATever Says:

only good tracker in that list is PTN… its a ratio free tracker with SSL encryption.

  12. IF…. Says:

science and or nature arent interesting to you, you can fuck yourself.
And i left my acc at ptn to rot.
    Really overhyped.
Not a bad site, just not a great one, was disappointed.

  13. Black Hobbit Says:

All these tiny community trackers trying to be L33T, will end up failing in the end like SCL
You guys want to remain so secretive, that you practically need to open signups to the public just so you can get new members to donate.
Otherwise, you’ll just be gone and forgotten like SCL & FTWR

  14. nightmissle Says:

    Animebyt.es has SSL application

They Banned anyone that uses IE.

Do they really think that people are going to change their browser, just to be on that little piece of steaming crap. NOT LoL

    Good Luck

  32. pdq Says:

    @Sad
Is common knowledge to a vast majority of net users and most definetly web programmers that IE 6,7,8 have many ie specific bugs and issues as well as pages not being rendering properly.
a quick google for ie bugs, fixes, rendering issues would give one an idea of just how much there is.

anyways, the site uses a validation/verification system in forms that verifies that the browser that had data posted to it is the same one that started the request.
This type of ‘hashing’ is done on many sites and in many different ways and is in no way special :P

One known bug in ie is that, if you hit refresh/f5 on a page the Accept Header changes, this is an ie specific bug.

Reloading/f5 a page with a form in it in ie breaks the verification process.

Solution 1 for members: Don’t refresh/f5 on pages with forms, such as login, profile edit, and so on. :]
Solution 2 for members: Use most any other browser than ie.
Solution 3 for members: Grow old waiting for this to be fixed by ms.
Solution 4 for members: Don’t use the site.

    http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2005/04/27/412813.aspx
    http://blogs.msdn.com/ieinternals/archive/2009/07/01/9811694.aspx
^^ these make for some boring reads but they touch briefly on the issue.

so short story long :P the reason you got that error message was not because ie is banned but instead because you were refreshing/f5 at the login page or some other form on site using ie then tried to post form.

and the ” is optimized for Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera. Do not use IE.”
is nothing more than us promoting the usage of proper/more standardized internet browsers and to discourage the use of microsoft internet explorers.
there are still a few diehards on site that use it.

the site has and is being thoroughly tested in most browsers inclusing ie.
had you have joined our irc support channel or pmed a staff with your problem you would have been helped by some helpful people. but instead you had to post that it’s ’steaming crap’ lol.
how would you know it is crap? since you couldn’t signup/login. :]

anyways we probably aren’t what you looking for anyways as we are more a community & fun driven site and our members aren’t so discrespectful or drama fueled as you have been here in this thread… but you are welcome to your opinion of course. :)

    good luck on your endeavours.
