Here at FSF, we’re smitten with
websites that offer a glimpse into “the scene”. Whether it be
PreDB/dupe sites that list an unwavering flow of scene releases, or
scene trackers that do a little more than just index them.
Previndico’s *pre
- is a bit of an oddity: naturally you won’t find any torrents or DDLs here, but it’s a very interesting database for Pred releases. What makes this site special is that the pres are intertwined with private trackers & torrent races - all on one site.

The origin of Previndico is somewhat of an enigma, although we know for certain that this one rose from the ashes of an earlier site: a relatively unknown PreDB that indexed approximately 1,250 new scene releases on any given day - stats which are comparable to any other reputable pre database. Despite the recent switch in domain name Previndico hasn’t missed a beat (that said, their pre history has started anew at ground zero). Quite possibly this is the net’s first complete ’scene’ public PreDB that includes scene trackers.
The PREs Page…
In-depth description here is not required: scene releases are indexed in Previndico’s PREs section. But click on a release title and you’ll be presented with info about the release (number of files, size, category and Pred time). Often there will be NFO and SFV files available.

Results from the torrent race (when applicable) are also displayed along with each tracker’s pre times. Private trackers that are in ‘the race’ are shown for each release. How would that be handy? Easy answer here - what’s the point of a PreDB, if it can’t point you to real site to download a release? Of course, you’ll require axx on certain private trackers.

Sites…
Trackers and their overall stats can be browsed manually using the sites.php link. Individual tracker acronym names can be clicked on to reveal a race history for each (total number of wins, second & third-place finishes - as well as the last 5 torrents raced).

The Future…
Previndico is still in the process of adding new features. For example, the old DB contained an excellent feature in their pre table: a separate column called ”Raced” which displayed directly whether a scene release has been indexed by a private tracker (or more than one). For this, viewers are able to tell immediately if a certain release title is available on private trackers (and which ones) or if not at all. So far, this feature has not (yet) been added to Previndico. Below is an example:

Final Thoughts…
Typical PreDB’s are known simply as indexers of scene releases. Some are more informative than others, and some are quite specialized. Take Dup3.me for example - releases can be arranged via category with extended info about each release (nuked/non-nuked, NFO, SFV). In contrast, Trac3.me is a site that only indexes “torrent races” but it doesn’t represent a good coverage of scene releases (in general). The only best of both worlds scenario (a complete PreDB with tracers) seems to be Previndico. But it needs more work yet.

Thanx for the information
And what’s the irc network?

PRE Count: 1674 really?! 1674 pres in the DB? thats awfull, maybe it can evolve do something nice, but 1674 entrys? really? where is the old DB left? looks a “little” overhyped for my taste…
Anon Says:
Keep in mind they only started tracking pres a day and a half ago. As such, 1674 sounds about right. Their tracer goes back a bit father, but not by a whole lot: 6/01/2010. Still, they seem to be racing a few sites that intentionally try to stay out of public tracers. Hope they were careful with their accounts, else they’re going to get one hell of a ban. (still no FTN either, but that’s not exactly shocking).
Would be nice if 1) They separated spam races from normal ones, and 2) had daystats/weekstats/monthstats/etc etc etc. Still, they’re new so give them time.

Only time will tel if this project will be a success or no, but spoiling URLs of some trackers is definitely not a good idea.

You guys are worried about the domain names? Really now? There have been lists of tracker abbreviations all over the net for years by now. “Security through Obscurity” isn’t exactly a fool proof plan. If some random 16 year old can find it you don’t think the feds can? *rolls his eyes* As I said before, I think releasing racing stats is a much bigger deal than releasing the abbreviations/urls. Everyone with access to a computer and an IQ over 10 can find the urls. But strong performances in races (the tracers section) makes it a bullseye for collectors/sellers/etc.
