20 New Private Trackers: July 2010 Edition

These monthly editions of ‘new tracker’ articles take a considerable amount of effort to write, let alone research. Not that FSF has a problem with that. From a writing perspective it’s generally more enjoyable to expose new trackers that are movers & shakers; sites that are going places. Naturally not all months are the same - June 2010 is mostly a forgettable month. Having said that, we’re pleased to report a handful of new BT startups that are golden - and well, we slam the rest.

Scene Trackers…

http://leecharchive.com

LeechArchive debuted on or around June 11th and already lists 1,440 torrents (61 new torrents are added daily, on average). Unquestionably this tracker has scene access although they choose to use it wisely and avoid the spam. In fact, LeechArchive only indexes XviD releases (no apps, no 0day - just XviD). Looking for a tracker that offers fast access to movies & TV releases? You’ll find them all here - and everything is seedbox-hosted.

Our prediction — We’ll thumb it up since they’re defying the odds by beating out pretimes found on some of the major scene trackers. Omgwtfhax’s Tracer reports an impressive 15% “win” margin for traced releases (and an overall #7 position for wins during the past month in non-spam); statistics that should be interpreted as very respectable since LA doesn’t race spam or other ‘non-spam’ releases outside of movies/tv. But don’t take our word for it: compare LA yourself to other trackers - you’ll see.

General Trackers…

http://storethefiles.net

Launched back in early June 2010, StoreTheFiles lists 200 members and 1,100 torrents (with 1,340 total seeders). Content is wide-ranging (albeit generic) and includes tiny single apps to music to TV Season packs. Meh, what makes you special?

Our prediction — We know what you’re thinking: StoreTheFiles could possibly be some sort of retarded reincarnation of StoreThe.net. Wrong. While STF does index scene (and P2P) releases they probably don’t have direct sceneaxx, which is identifiable by taking a peek into their Movies > XviD category (as most titles are older). But they definitely have uploaders.

DL Speeds

: in our tests this varied between 20KB/s - 400KB/s for 1-seed torrents.

http://love2leech.com

Online since 06-11-2010 Love2Leech has 303 members and an impressive 2,600 torrents. It’s also a ratio-free tracker (rules are, seed back to 1:1 or for 48 hours). Most if not all torrents are webseeded as the site uses “a few” seedboxes to host them. While offering a broad array of content, movies seem to be their specialty and make up for more than half of all torrents on the tracker:

Our prediction — We’ve been told that Love2Leech has their site finances covered in advance for the next three years (thus they won’t be begging for donations anytime soon). Good start so far - on any given day expect to find 60-80 new torrents added; most of which are scene releases. Hopefully in the future the tracker gets an upgrade from a 2008 TBDev sourcecode to something more modern.

http://thefiles.ro

TheFiles.ro has been around since the middle of May and created quite a buzz among the Romanian tracker community at the time. Popularity has since ebbed however; a look at the number of peers can confirm this. But still, pretty good content here for both RO and English users.

Our predictionTheFiles lists 2,355 total torrents (although only 738 are active with 1,339 total seeds among them). Stats like that doesn’t exactly suggest a loyal devout fanbase. Perhaps if we reviewed them a month ago they’d have gotten a thumbs-up. Come next month it might possibly be a thumbs-down if they don’t turn things around fast. Then again, it’s impossible to say.

http://www.scenetime.com

The first thing you’ll ask yourself is, “Wait a minute… Hey, isn’t SceneTime exactly like TorrentDay?”. Yep it is eerily similar — including the movie posters on the main index page, the top list of popular torrents, the exact same rules page taken verbatim, and the self-praising nature of both sites. Case in point:

SceneTime Homepage: “You will get all crystal clear completely scene releases fast speed on scenetime.com. NO fake and virus infected torrents here. sceneTime is your key to scene group.”

TorrentDay Homepage: “You will only find Scene (and reputable ‘Non-Scene’ Groups) releases here. - Crystal Clean files - Fast Speed - FAST PRE RELEASE TIMING - Clean & No Virus !”

Our prediction — The second thing you’ll ask yourself is, “Does the torrent world really need another TorrentDay/IPT clone?”. No, it doesn’t. Alas, that alone probably won’t stop SceneTime from becoming moderately successful, even though it reeks of being a newb-magnet. Misguided torrenters straight out of IH, TPB will surely flock to this one.

http://www.arctictorrents.com

There’s only so much time one can allot a private tracker to try to become something worthwhile and purposeful. On all levels ArcticTorrents is the epitomy of a tracker you’ll want to avoid.

Our prediction — Tracker stats aren’t reported onsite, but there are just a paltry 69 active torrents dating all the way back to June 3rd 2010. Download speeds are infuriating at best - good luck finding a torrent that’s seedbox-hosted. Run, Forrest, run.

http://www.seedthis.info

  • — Category: General (& movies)     Codebase: XBtiT
  • — Signup: here.

SeedThis has been online since June 9th and lists 67 torrents with 80 registered members. Although considered a general tracker (there are no browse category icons to easily confirm this) it appears that most everything here is movie-related.

Our prediction — Not much activity happening here, just 15 new torrents have been added over the past week. 90% of all torrents have been upped by the same uploader which clearly suggests that no one else here seems to give a shit.

http://globalfile.ro

Globalfile is a newer ‘general’ tracker that launched back in early June 2010. Currently lists 428 active torrents and 1,610 registered members.

Our prediction — If you’re looking for a good chuckle, check out the reported seed/leech numbers for the torrents (which are all private, BTW). It’s unknown if these stats are deliberately inflated to make the tracker appear more popular than it really is, or if it’s just an error within the coding. Their homepage tracker stats seem more appropriate - just 468 seeds for 428 active torrents.

Foreign Trackers…

http://pt-t.ath.cx

Plusz-Torrent is a new Hungarian tracker that’s smartly gone underground using a free domain name from ath.cx. Indexes just 41 torrents & 367 members since coming online a mere few days ago. NOTE: After signing up it’s mandatory that members produce a speedtest.net link in their profile; something that’s utterly obsolete in an era of escalating seedbox usage.

Our prediction — Nothing much here for the English crowd, but it could turn into a hotspot as Hungarians scramble to find suitable replacements for .hu sites that were recently raided. This one’s far too new to properly predict, but for now it gets the thumbs-down due to the inane required speedtest.

http://hdtorrents.it

  • — Category: HD (Italy)     Codebase: TBDev (Yuna Scatari)
  • — Signup Link: Don’t signup

FSF was contacted directly to write about HDTorrents.it - a new Italian tracker for HD releases. At first glance it appears similar to the real Hd-Torrents.org (now, the logo being the only similarity) but nevertheless it’s a tracker to avoid. There are no torrents here, move along.

Our prediction — You suck. Possibly this project is from the same asshat who started up Zerosec.it (who also contacted FSF for an article after the demise of ZS) - a site which is now dead but for a time used the ZeroSec theme. Is Italy aiming to become shitlisted on BT & P2P?

http://filebitz.org

FileBitz is a new Latvian (& Russian) general tracker that started up on June 1st. Indexes 738 total torrents with 1,785 members.

Our prediction — Off to a good start, FileBitz offers a little bit of everything. Aside from apps, games & music, English users won’t find much else of interest here.

Niche Trackers…

http://cultivationnation.com

Wow, a tracker dedicated to all things weed-related! Launched on June 28th, here’s the tagline: ”Cultivation Nation is a online community about the Cultivation of Medical Marijuana. We also believe that everybody has the right to have access to any information regarding this great plant and to enjoy that information. Whether it be movies, music, games, books, or documentaries. Eventually you will find all of that here.

Our prediction — You gotta love niche trackers, and so it gets a thumbs-up. The torrent count is a little thin (just 13) but the forums are quite active (grow guides, journals, help with plants, headshop reviews, etc).

http://theempire.bz

From the creators of TheBox comes their latest brainchild called TheEmpire.bz. TheEmpire features local television (and radio) programmes from nations within the CommonWealth (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa…). Think of it as a complimentary site to TheBox.bz but with greater expansion outside of the UK.

Our prediction — Expect nothing short of greatness from a group that creates trackers which are actually beneficial to the BitTorrent community as a whole. This tracker needs no further introduction.

http://torrent-palace.info

A recent startup from our June new trackers edition Karaoke-World.co.uk might face some stiff competition with the all-new Karaoke tracker Torrent-Palace.info. But probably not. Torrent-Palace came to life less than two weeks ago on 06-26-2010 and lists 165 members & 200 torrents.

Our prediction — This one can’t quite hold a candle to Karaoke-World just yet - the latter has a plethora of packs, compilations and the ilk that can’t be found anywhere else. But what do we know? Karaoke fiends now have two resources - and both trackers are open for signups.

http://www.hotvibes.org

  • — Category: General/Music (RO/EN)     Codebase: TBDev
  • — Signup link: You’ll find it.

Hotvibes, a new tracker that caters mainly to music releases, opened to the public on 06-18-2010. Stats aren’t disclosed but there are 566 active torrents (all of which are freeleech), and all new accounts receive 12GB upload credit.

Our prediction — Torrents are divided into three distinct browse pages (Music, Movies & Misc) but primarily it’s all about music (431 torrents). Content is somewhat diverse but with a main focus on new scene releases. Loads of torrents are pouring in daily; if they can keep up the torrid pace this tracker may just turn into a winner.

Other Trackers…

http://www.spdtorrents.com — A new general tracker (apps, mobile stuff, wallpapers, mac, ebooks, etc) - registration is currently closed.

http://firetorrents.net — Just 16 total torrents on this new Romanian tracker.

http://extremervd.com — New music tracker for leaked music releases in advance of retail. Definitely worth checking out!

http://extrafiles.ro — Opened on July 5th 2010.

http://bouncey-torrents.co.uk — New TSSE-based music tracker; online since June 26th and lists 58 torrents.

  12. Weedman Says:

Thank you for the write up on cultivationnation.com and glad you liked it!

  13. Evil Says:

Cultivationnation…why not…as long as the forums are active it should be good, for weed/drug related torrents I prefer 420project, many torrents, many old torrents well seeded (ThKs 51) and several upped each day (”several” seems cute in the BT world nowadays, but when you already have almost every weed/drug related movie/ebook/appz/TV etc… it’s hard to find new ones, but the uppers have good sources), speeds are great and reseed requests are always honored.

  14. Mr Bo Says:

Thanks FSF for these new trackers.
Because of my internet connection I really need trackers with a good number of seeders.
I`ve recently come across an accelerator… Utorrent Ultra Accelerator from Traffic Speeders, and my speed is now better, but if there aren`t enough seeders the speed can`t be very high.
Has anyone else tried this acceleretor, I would like some other oppinions?

This once invite only torrent site Dragons-Dungeon.com has open there doors once again. Due to a hack attempt and server problems (from the hack attack) they have since then moved to a new and better server company and are up and running again. All member accounts were lost, so they have been forced to open the doors. This is a fast growing torrent site that has lots and lots of torrents added daily. They have lots of dedicated uploaders unlike so many other places out there (not just a few staff members uploading like other sites). The shout box always has chatter going on. All torrents are upped on a seedboxes or dedicated servers. Staff are very friendly and helpful. So come join and check out this fast growing torrent site you wont be disappointed at all. http://www.dragons-dungeon.com
