Community is everything. It took just two
What.CD members to come forward and post their vision: a desire to
create a new niche tracker. Supportive response was overwhelming to say
the least; less than a week later a mere concept had spiraled into a
full-blown reality and Deli.sh was born.
BitTorrent’s first (and only) food tracker has launched with vigor -
we’ve got the details on this exciting new site.
Online for about 5 days now, Delish is very much in ‘alpha’ and still smoothing out the kinks but development has progressed swiftly. Running on the latest Gazelle RC2 codebase, unsurprisingly there have been very few serious bug reports from the 150 or so alpha-testers (members) using the tracker, site & forums. This also marks one of the few times that we’ve been privy to witness an almost ‘default’ stock install of RC2 without (yet) a ton of modifications; a feat that suggests RC2 is not only stable but relatively easy to work with.
Delish - About:
“If you’re reading this, it means you’re a part of a new, delicious torrent tracker! You probably already know, but Deli.sh is a tracker dedicated to everything food. Whether you want TV shows, cookbooks, or applications, we’ll have them! As a niche tracker, we want to encourage all of you to participate as much as possible and to upload whatever you can…”
Awesomeness! There’s also recipe torrents in the form of ebooks/pdf’s, movies that pertain to food, TV series (obviously), and a blossoming forum for discussion on culinary arts, user-submitted recipes, insider secrets & other related chat about gastronomy in general. From what we can tell, an encoding “capper” team is being assembled to snag the latest TV eps from popular shows, and scene content will soon be a staple to the site.
Early Access - Joining Deli.sh
FSF was lucky enough to slide in during the *first wave
-
when Deli.sh ran a temporary “open reg” promo (through What.CD) which was available to the first 100 applicants who submitted an email request to be invited. There’s a *second wave
-
scheduled to commence “sometime this week” when they go into beta, but at this time we have no information as to how many new members will be accepted during this next phase. Aspiring earlybirds could try these options:
1. To be notified
of the site’s launch, subscribe by entering your email address at their registration page - http://deli.sh/register.php. TIP: Keep a close eye on your inbox.
2. Post your interest
through What.CD in this thread. This won’t necessarily guarantee anything, but it’s worth a shot. TIP: Frequently check/refresh What for new PMs. To quote:
“The deli.sh staff and I would like to announce that when we go into our “beta” sometime this week (still to be determined when), everyone in this thread who has shown interest, will be PMed and informed about our open registrations.”
3. Quitely wait
for open registration or alternate sources of info which may trickle over to other trackers or forums. After all; it doesn’t appear that Deli.sh is resolute on becoming a secret l33t tracker - it’s simply a tracker that’s not quite yet ready for an official launch (hence the limited access).
4. Hit ‘em up on IRC
. Delish has their own IRC digs at irc.deli.sh - however, non-members won’t be able to access official delish channels, with one exception being the #help channel (hotlink to #help here). It would be ill-advised to ask for invites here, but if you think you can contribute somehow to the dev of the tracker, by all means contact staff through the help channel.
Some Peek Screens:
These are subject to change (and soon), but here’s how it is for now:

IB Says:
First!! looks good but not sure abt having a whole green tracker……
Delish Staff Says:
Well there is always the option of changing the CSS (style sheet), but the one shown is called Organic, and is the default.
Oromis Says:
Looks great so far from the pictures. I have a feeling this one will be successful. I’ll be signing up for sure!
Nomen Says:
Do any old-timers here remember SNACKSTER?
Snackster was a first-generation filesharing application and P2P network dedicated to sharing recipes.

lolol Says:
My common sense suggest me dat 99% who use bt are MALE.
And due to little bit of dere nature most of them are not into cooking And/or atleast perfection cooking , the concept dis tracker focus on.
So it will eventually will die due 2 lack of Member/Activity.
a/s/l Says:
@lolol - well i’d use a recipe site cos i love cooking and i’m male, so i guess i must be gay or something
sgiuh Says:
@ lolol - funny how the majority of professional chefs are male…
TheSmilingCat Says:
hehehe another tracker filling a niche and a nice one at that.Good Luck to the community.Since I have no interest in cooking food(If there was some food sex videos,I would have tried a hand
j/k)and only have
interest in eating what my mom makes,Sadly wont be able to enjoy the
tracker.
Lol Says:
@ lolol
But we can download them and share with our girlfriends , wife.
brent Says:
not sure if there is enough demand for something like this, but it’s always nice to see unique ideas in the BT world!
Hi Says:
I like the idea as I cook for the family. ;D
I’m cooking steak right now!
Yes i’m a male.
xblade-scene Says:
New Torrent Tracker everything on seed boxes and dedicated servers. http://xblade-scene.org
sharkweek Says:
“and scene content will soon be a staple to the site.”
I see what you did there.
ME0W Says:
it turns out Yan CAN cook.
who’d have thunk it?
Walter White Says:
Do we learn how to cook meth there?
Walter White
lol Says:
a tracker for all the fat asses out there..
Jack Says:
I think cooking ebooks would be better uploaded on an ebook tracker with more people or with DDL. I’m sure they won’t be able to keep alive their torrent enough.
cpx Says:
This is actually a very unique idea for a tracker, I can’t recall any other tracker with food related uploads only. Good luck, guys, I truly hope your project will be a big success.

WTF is going on at Torrent-Invites.com
http://www.torrent-invites.com/chopping-block/67032-lucky21-invite-buying-exchanging-t-i-members-profile-links.html
Is T-I torrent invite selling site?? :\
Jalmari Says:
I’m glad I can cook my own food unlike some of the fucktards who post comments here (whose mom does their laundry too).
LOL Says:
No Josh T-I is not a selling site. Far from it. Don’t make such slanderous claims — oh and how about keeping on topic? :eyeroll:
On topic, I don’t foresee a cooking tracker lasting long, simply because it’s too niche. Just my opinion though.
Shameless Says:
It’s going to be more than a recipe collection. There are loads of food related shows that some of us don’t have access to due to being in different countries.
I visited the site and can’t get past the green menu page. Clicking on “Register” gets me nowhere. So don’t know if it’s happening or not.
Shino23 Says:
meh, another useless tracker.
Scott Millson Says:
Well I’m male and in culinary school and hope one day to become a chef and I’d definitely use this tracker.
Guy Dude-Mann Says:
Now, maybe we can get hold of Keith Floyd’s “Floyd On Fish” series, and “New Scandinavian Cooking” by Andreas Viestadt (as well as Tina Nordstrom’s programs - YUM! LOL) I also dig Alexander Wisting’s music for the Scandcook series. But, I really hope someone will UL “The French Chef” episode where Julia Child proclaims “Today, we’re going to make piita-bread for the stewww!” XD
As for the green splash page, I believe it’ll have cross-over appeal to golfers… ;D
time Says:
Its an interesting site, still few members tho so the forums arent that active.
Blazing and Pimping Says:
This once invite only torrent site Dragons-Dungeon.com has open there doors once again. Due to a hack attempt and server problems (from the hack attack) they have since then moved to a new and better server company and are up and running again. All member accounts were lost, so they have been forced to open the doors. This is a fast growing torrent site that has lots and lots of torrents added daily. They have lots of dedicated uploaders unlike so many other places out there (not just a few staff members uploading like other sites). The shout box always has chatter going on. All torrents are upped on a seedboxes or dedicated servers. Staff are very friendly and helpful. So come join and check out this fast growing torrent site you wont be disappointed at all. http://www.dragons-dungeon.com
seedbox Says:
Can’t wait for this one to open. Already went on the IRC, but they don’t have an official application process yet.
