Being
that there are just too many new trackers to report about in this
August 2010 Edition, we’ve been forced to break it down into two
separate articles. Here we present 12 new sites; most of which are
considered general and/or content-specific trackers. Ratings for these
are more than fair, although we’ve yet to cover some of the newer niche
sites that have recently launched. We’ll dig deeper into this in Part
II, and we’ll include a bonus: realtime updated stats from trackers
which were included in the previous
[July](../../../07/06/20-new-private-trackers-july-2010-edition/ “20 New
Private Trackers: July 2010 Edition”) Edition.
General Trackers…
http://bitunity.org
- — Category: General/Scene Codebase: TSSE v7.0
- — Signup Link: http://bitunity.org/signup.php
Officially opened to the public in the middle of June 2010, Bit Unity is a general tracker that already lists an impressive 1,537 active torrents. While tracker stats are not immediately posted on the index page, their forum link confirms that there are more than 31,000 members. A little bit of everything can be found here; there’s a nice mix of both scene and P2P releases (movies; 400 torrents - TV; 700 torrents - sports/MMA; 107 torrents) - with very little junk/0day stuff.
Our prediction —
For a tracker with not a lot of public exposure, Bit Unity has
done extremely well for itself. Staff are friendly, users can make
requests, forums & chatbox are modesty active - if you have a few
idle minutes it’s definitely an up-&-coming tracker worthy of
checking out.
http://file-list.org
- — Category: General (RO/EN) Codebase: TBDev
- — Signup Link: http://file-list.org/signup.php
Online since the middle of May 2010, File-List indexes 1,418 total torrents. Being a RO/EN tracker, they list a mixed bag of torrents which includes mainstream scene/P2P movies (as well as Rosubbed ones which make up for 600 torrents), 0day/music and other categories.
Our prediction —
Despite having an abysmal Alexa rank, the only thing holding
File-List back from being a serious contender is their lack of
popularity combined with inconsistent uploading. The number of total
members is not known, nor are seed/peer numbers known for the tracker
(as a whole).
http://www.soulbitz.com
- — Category: General (Scene) Codebase: TBDev
- — Signup Link: http://www.soulbitz.com/signup.php
While not exactly new, SoulBitz is a reincarnate of the defunct Ozone-Torrents tracker. SoulBitz began back in April?, then they went though some hard times as their database crashed taking along with it 3 month’s worth of torrents, new members & forum posts. It wasn’t until mid-July when they managed to turn things around in a positive direction. Consider this the unofficial rebirth of SoulBitz; everything is anew. Torrent count: 600 (since 2010-07-18) and growing quickly.
Our prediction —
If Soulbitz can remain healthy, members will come back. They’ve got a
new auto-upload bot posting torrents with fast pretimes in addition to
a devout team of uploaders. We thumb-it-up due to a sleek design,
easy-to-use request system, and the fact that staff are tenacious enough
to continue the effort.
http://dream-torrents.com
- — Category: General Codebase: TSSE v7.1
- — Signup: http://dream-torrents.com/signup.php
Off to a decent beginning, Dream-Torrents reports in excess of 7,000 members (really?!) with ~400 torrents. Online since July 13th, this TS-SE tracker indexes just about anything imaginable; including BAR music packs, movie packs, mainstream flicks, appz/gamez/0day and everything in between.
Our prediction —
Getting current members to be more active should be a top priority here
- 7,118 registered members and just 660 total seeders on 383 torrents.
Do the math, folks. It’s too early for us to predict if Dream can
make the cut or not; their fate is left in their own hands.
http://skyseed.eu
- — Category: General Codebase: TBDev
- — Signup: http://skyseed.eu/signup.php
SkySeed.eu is absolutely brand-new being online for merely a few days now. Torrents list in at just 42 (all were uploaded since 2010-08-10). All new members receive 3GB upload credit upon signup & all members are permitted to upload torrents. Everything is freeleech, but for how long that will last we could only speculate.
Our prediction —
No prediction yet. Perhaps if they’d made it into the next ‘new
trackers’ article we’d have a better feel for what direction this
tracker is going. Impossible to say at this point - could turn out to be
kick-ass, could be a dud. We’ll let you know in the next article.
Foreign Trackers…
http://tsn-hd.net
- — Category: High Def (Italy) Codebase: xBTiT
- — Signup Link: http://tsn-hd.net/index.php?page=signup
TSN-HD lists 87 torrents and 550 members since coming online in late July. Here you’ll find Italian HD releases for both movies and TV from well known groups such as THESiN, SiD & PrV.
Our prediction —
Too early to predict, but there’s very little here for non-Italian
torrenters; insofar as that most of the movie torrents are mkv/x264
encodes taken from BluRays (and for TV, these are capped from Italian
stations). Good luck finding full 40GB BD releases.
http://avetorrents.com
- — Category: General (Bulgaria) Codebase: TBDev
- — Signup Link: http://avetorrents.com/signup.php
AVETorrents is a newer Bulgarian tracker that indexes an impossible 5,000+ torrents dating back to early June 2010. Overall tracker stats are unknown, but there are in excess of 10K members (their forum page confirms this). While it’s no Zamunda.net, at least non-Bulgarian IPs aren’t blocked from accessing it.
Our prediction —
As far as Bulgarian trackers go, AVETorrents gets our thumbs-up.
Hopefully they can improve in the area of keeping torrents well seeded -
at last check there were only 2,000 (out of 5K) that had at least one
seeder (leaving 3,000 dead torrents on the tracker).
http://wormsblast.com.pl
- — Category: General (Poland) Codebase: TBDev
- — Signup Link: http://wormsblast.com.pl/signup.php
WormsBlast actually began life back in April, but it wasn’t until at least a month later in which the tracker showed any real signs of life; and really it still doesn’t. This Polish tracker lists 1,363 members and 560 torrents (with a paltry 593 total seeds).
Our prediction
— English users won’t find much of interest here. Polish-language
torrents are clearly marked with a **[PL]
** tag (this amounts to 50% of all torrents on the tracker), which includes just about everything in their movies categories.
http://www.gutezone.biz
- — Category: General (Sweden) Codebase: TSSE v7.1
- — Signup: http://www.gutezone.biz/signup.php?
International torrenters: avoid this one. GuteZone is quite specifically a Swedish tracker with little else to offer otherwise. Then again that the meme for most national or language-specific trackers - if you’re not part of the group then GTFO. Online for just over a month now, GuteZone lists 289 torrents (with 650 total seeds) and 1,083 members.
Our prediction —
Surely there are better Swedish trackers than GuteZone; most will
inarguably attest to this. So what could make this one popular? We dunno
the answer.
http://besttuga.net
- — Category: General (Portugal) Codebase: TBDev 2009
- — Signup: http://besttuga.net/signup.php
BestTuga is a newer Portuguese tracker that’s been kicking around since May 2010. Registered members: 1,139. Total Torrents: 870 (with 965 total seeds).
Our prediction —
Nice layout but there’s not a lot of activity here. Oddly, there’s nice
selection of English/scene stuff mixed in with the local content. Much
is hosted on a seedbox (clearly indicated as such on the browse pages)
and we can honestly conclude that, indeed, these are certainly hosted on
a webserver.
Niche Trackers…
http://christianmovies.eu
- — Category: Christian Movies (& TV) Codebase: Ick!
- — Signup: here.
As a niche tracker, ChristianMovies is a good idea. Take movies, cartoons & TV shows with Christian themes and roll ‘em all together into one handy site. Sure it’s not BreatheTheWord but the Judas to CM lies in it’s antiquated sourcecode - throw this one onto TBDev or Gazelle and it would make for a happier ending. Stats: 2,238 registered members | 926 torrents | 558 total seeders.
Our prediction —
Honestly we’re not exactly sure if this tracker is trying to cater to
Christians of the world, or just Romanian Christians. With 400 active
torrents (926 total) there is enough content to appease both.
Despite the disastrous choice of codebase, they do have a bit of a cult
following. Apparently so does religion.
The LOL Tracker of the Month:
http://xblade-scene.org
- — Category: General Codebase: TSSE v7.0
- — Signup: http://xblade-scene.org/signup.php?
When the sysop is uploading public torrents to a register-only tracker, one should naturally wonder what is going on. Either he/she is just bored, or has no enthusiasm to steal torrents from reputable private trackers. That, or else simply doesn’t have the accounts to them. To us, it’s always been a mystery why “private” trackers would go to the trouble to pay out $150 (plus hosting) to do this. XBlade-Scene is a prime example of what NOT to do.
Our prediction
— (Our rant) - The majority of experienced private torrenters will
agree that any aspiring ’siteop/owners’ who opts to use TSSE
(templateshares) as a backbone to a torrent
tracker are taking the easy way out. Heck, there are free options
like Gazelle, and default TBDev (but expect to put in some hard work
coupled with exceptional knowledge of HTML and PHP). The TSSE
“tracker in a can” costs about $80 and another $70 to get it
configured within the sysop-supplied server/VPS. Our beef is not with
the price - it’s a viable option for those who have little or no
knowledge of how to set up a tracker on their own (or otherwise can’t
even be bothered). Many new startups use TSSE and have enjoyed enormous
success in their own right whereas others have not.
But in XBlade’s situation, the money was wasted. Expect FAIL, and fast - unless they can kick off those public trackers.

Stay tuned for Part II, due out in a couple of days!

I wouldn’t join any of these trackers even if my life depended on it…Why are they so many general trackers popping up?
I just think trackers should now focus on more specific topics…Delish (food tracker) , Biblotik (Ebook) , and the jazz tracker Vibes are some of the trackers I joined after you reviewed them.
The Romanian Christian Community looks like a cover for something devious..heheh..

This once invite only torrent site Dragons-Dungeon.com has open there doors once again. Due to a hack attempt and server problems (from the hack attack) they have since then moved to a new and better server company and are up and running again. All member accounts were lost, so they have been forced to open the doors. This is a fast growing torrent site that has lots and lots of torrents added daily. They have lots of dedicated uploaders unlike so many other places out there (not just a few staff members uploading like other sites). The shout box always has chatter going on. All torrents are upped on a seedboxes or dedicated servers. Staff are very friendly and helpful. So come join and check out this fast growing torrent site you wont be disappointed at all. http://www.dragons-dungeon.com
