about two weeks now, SeX v1.0 brings about many new exciting changes
to this scene tracker which we’ll cover in detail below. This time

Unbanned IPs
.RO and .IL IPs are Unbanned — As of today, Romanian and Israeli users are now permitted to sign up at SeX. Read on…
“After some serious discussions, we have decided to remove the country bans on .RO and .IL! We have decided to give these two countries a second chance here at SeX and we sincerely hope that they grab this chance and prove us wrong for banning them the first time!
We will naturally be watching the new users from these countries carefully and hope they do not do anything that might cause their countries to get banned again.
So, as of today all .RO and .IL torrenters are welcome here at SceneXpress!”
New H&R System
Best to let SeX explain the new changes to their H&R system…
“The Hit and Run limits are as follows:
If you have successfully completed the seeding requirements on less than 100 torrents, you have a Hit and Run limit of 3. This means that you are allowed up to 3 HnRs before the system disables your downloading privileges; although the DL privileged removal is only temporary until you correct your HnRs. We hope that you do your best not to fall into this category.
If you have successfully completed the seeding requirements on 100 or more torrents, the system changes from a 3 strikes system to a percentage based system having the HnR limit on 5%. This means that your Hit and Run limit is now 5% of your completed torrents.
Here are a few examples:
If a user has 100 successfully completed torrents; that users Hit and run Limit changes to 5 HnRs. That means the user can do 5 hit and runs before the users download privileges are disabled.
Another example: If a user has 263 successfully completed torrents; that users Hit and run Limit changes to 13 HnRs. That means the user can do 13 hit and runs before the users download privileges are disabled.”
Unseen elsewhere, this policy essentially allows its members to H&R torrents, but only up to a point. The more you download, the more leniency you have. Therefore a member who has downloaded 1,000 torrents is permitted to have up to 50 H&Rs on the account.
NOTE: (Snatch Policy System) — As before, all members are required to download and seed at least two torrents per month (that are larger than 100 MB) or else risk losing the account.
New Seeding System
To avoid receiving a H&R, these are the new seeding requirements for individual torrents:
- • Seed all NEW packs (0-14 days old) to a 1:1 ratio OR for 120 hours minimum! (5 days)
- • Seed all NEW single torrents (0-14 days old) to a 1:1 ratio OR for 72 hours minimum! (3 days)
- • Seed all OLDER packs (14 days old or older) to a 1:1 ratio OR for 72 hours minimum! (3 days)
- • Seed all OLDER single torrents (14 days old or older) to a 1:1 ratio OR for 36 hours minimum!
Seedbonus System & Bonus Shop
SeX’s Seedbonus System was the first of many new features introduced when they originally launched out of beta. Points can be swapped for a wide variety of site perks in the Bonus Shop: invites, anonymous on peerlist, +v in IRC, remove warnings/H&Rs, user search, and more (see screenshot below). Unlike the majority of “bonus” systems implemented on trackers, SeX’s system uses a combined “seed GB” total, not the number of torrents.
“The system checks once (1 time) every hour for torrents seeded, it gets the total combined size of those torrents and gives you 1 point for every GB you’re seeding with a max of 100 points per 1 hour.
As some of you may have noticed - You had some ‘extra’ bonus points to begin with. The reason for that is that we wanted to surprise our members so we let the system run in the background for a few weeks before publishing it. Enjoy!”
Thus, seed some big packs and you’ll be amassing points in no time! For example, if your combined seeding torrents is greater than 100 GB, you’ll be generating 2,400 points per day (assuming you seed 24/7).

New SeXy ‘Torrent Details’ Pages
Here’s a feature that is fairly difficult to implement on scene trackers - and that’s the ability to include release details automatically on-the-fly for new torrents. At SceneXpress specific info for each torrent is added which varies from category to category. Thumbnails, IMDb links and other tidbits may be included.
However, for torrents in movies/films the
IMDb parsing has been taken to a new level. In categories which include
Movies-XviD, Movies-DVDR and Movies-x264, check out the new
”Show IMDb Info” link. Here you’ll be presented with extended
real-time info about the film from IMDb. Quite an amazing feature
considering SeX’s killer pretimes. You won’t find this on GFT or
TorrentVault, and although SCC offers a similar feature it’s not nearly
as complete.

Dual-Browse pages — Split between “Torrents” and “Spam”. You probably get the gist of the idea. Spam torrents are always freeleech. Thanks for these news! I already registered there a few days ago though =).
So far it seems like a really good tracker to me. Pre-times are great, really giving the big sites (SCC, GFT, etc.) a run for it on many pre’s. I’ve maxed out my 100 mbit connection on all torrents i’ve snatched so far. They could really use some more activity from their members though. That appears to be their main issue right now. The disputed Snatch Policy is only fair imo. The staff obviously spend a lot of time and effort on running the site and with so much inactivity, there’s no wonder that such a rule is in place. If they can manage to increase the activity from its members some more, i can see a really bright future for this site!
I suggest everyone who’s looking for a good scene site take this opportunity and register!!

See, I do like SeX, I really do, but I always seem to be running into problems with the snatch policy. That said, I have gotten to the point where I’d be warned “any time now” and never got a warning, so I’m safe for now, but… there’s no way I’d be able to make it to the user class that is immune to the snatch policy. Why? My parents are watching how much I download very closely because of Comcast’s 250 GB cap.

i joined this tracker a month ago and i have to say it is one of the best (if not the best) scene trackers ive ever been on, and im all of them (scc, tl, gft, revtt).
sure the tracker can use a bit more leechers, and of course they will get that with the new members coming.. they had a userbase of 4000 users, thats why there werent that many leechers..
they have fantastic pres and speeds, lots of content and loads of freeleech! and they get better and better every single day.. this tracker definitely has a bright future…

Ummm seems a strange statment to make as it was myself on DDT that first wrote and came up with the H&R system for my own site as as we were torrent users ourselfs we knew that the pure ratio system used on almost all sites was unfair to users who through no fault of there own were unable to seed every torrent to a 1:1 ratio….
The default of 5 H&R’s has and still is the default value on all H&R scripts been coded since due to updates to the core source used.
However i dont know if there site also kept the script in its 100% state as written by myself in that removes 2 H&R warnings every 2 weeks to insure that users are never banned but educated in that they must follow the rules.
There is no point banning your user base for H&R’s and the best you should hope for is that after a little time they will educate themselfs.

I signed up during the beta and then let my account expire. The pre-times were god awful (hours after pre, except on spam torrents), and the forums (which you’re required to post in) were 99% spam.
