Tracker Spotlight: ABTorrents (For Audiobooks Only)

March 13, 10 by sharky   1,947  views

Anyone who’s ever tried searching for audiobooks on private trackers probably knows how difficult they are to find. Since release groups tend to shy away from releasing audiobooks, scene/0day trackers are of no use, and most "elearning" trackers have very little to offer, either. You’ll find plenty if you’re fortunate enough to have an account at What.CD or Waffles; even Demonoid has a decent selection. But ABTorrents.com (Audio Book Torrents) might just be the only private tracker that caters exclusively to audiobooks, and prides itself on high-quality releases.

900+ Private Trackers Online in 2010 - A Record?

January 11, 10 by sharky   12,986  views

Trackers Listed: 946

After reading a news post on TorrentFreak yesterday in reference to BREIN’s unsubstantiated claim to having been responsible for the shutdown of nearly 400 torrent sites in 2009, our first though was - could this be somewhat factual? Do we have 400 dead links pointing to now-defunct trackers here at FSF? Possibly so; having indexed torrent trackers for more than two years now throughout countless articles. But don’t give BREIN too much undue credit - the fact is, most private trackers go offline on their own accord rather than being threatened into doing so.

Nonetheless, we ransacked through just about every private tracker indexed on FSF (including the removal of 150 dead trackers from the Trackers List page) and easily found in excess of 900 trackers still online. We weren’t all that surprised to find that today’s stats are similar (but actually higher than) the number of active private trackers from nine months ago in April 2009.

ScenePalace.org - A New ‘Scene’ 0day Tracker Launches

January 08, 10 by sharky   9,483  views

ScenePalace.ORG - quite possibly the Internet’s first 2010 tracker, also happens to be one of the better ’scene’ trackers to emerge in recent history. ScP is purposely absent from our latest list of new trackers in order to avoid confusion with ScenePalace.com - and also to provide readers with a closer look into this brand-new 0sec/0day tracker. Already ranked #8 in pretimes for releases in both spam and non-spam categories, ScP is showing amazing potential - here’s a tracker not to be overlooked.

Update Jan 17th: ScenePalace is now closed for registration.
